How many church (or other place of worship) steeples are visible from normal spectator areas of current eircom League grounds? And can any particularly incurable geek name each church?

The Cathedral in Sligo. The clock face is handy when Rovers are sweating it out for a win or looking to get back into it. The Protestant Church, St John the Baptist is next door but dont think its visible from the Showgrounds. It hasnt got a steeple though.

United Park - Our Lady of Lourdes Church (from home terrace only) and another one miles away in the distance out in the country.

Turners Cross church can definitely be seen from the Donie Forde, and I think also from the Shed and St Annes.

Wasn't it originally the Lourdes Stadium before it morphed into 02 and then United Park?

no, lourdes stadium was a different ground - located about 500 metres from united park - it backs onto the same graveyard that is across the road from united park. still used as a pitch for a couple of junior sides in the meath & district league i think.

Our stand is faced in the right direction to see St Macartan's Cathedral, must check out tonight if it can be seen.
(i think not, probably obscured by a hill)

funny when im in the stand i can see all the way to the lower leagues

St. Peters. Can't see it from the Jodi though as its behind us. If you were sitting up the back of the connaught st though I'd say you'd see a fair few steeples.

Mater Dei can be seen from the main stand and new stand in Tolka. Not a church but just the place where the priests study.

you could see the catherdal and St. Nicolas Protestant church from terryland. Not sure now with the new stand up?

Well technically there is no church there now as it's being used as our temporary library while the other is being renovated
