I agree. Did I hear right, they put grass over a plastic pitch!

No wonder there is no bounce in the ball!

The stadium is less than half full. According to the commentary its a double header with an MLS game later! Impression I get is there are not that many fans of the 2 teams but lots of locals! There's a mic beside some Irish guys (bench?) whose language is fairly choice

Also Phil Babb seems to find the fact that there's a player called Gamble is a source of great humour. His commentary is on a par with his defending

That's the New England Patriots stadium though, so you wouldn't really expect it to be full. It has a very large capacity. More than the 20,000 at Giants Stadium? I'd say there were about 5,000 at best Irish supporters at Giants Stadium but I would expect Boston to do better.

Which side looks better so far?

It's an odd game, defnesively both teams are poor, I'd say Boliviva are slightly better.

I though Stan might have started with him on the bench and then thrown him on as a late Gamble

Poor defensively alright. Stephen Kelly seems to sell himself very easily. Colgan has made a few nice saves. Would like to see a bit more of Stokes, seems quite isolated at times.

I dunno how any of ye distinguish the performance of one fuzzy white blob from another. Potter looks v comfortable on the ball tho. and alan o brien is faster than the Flash.poor enough game with the bolivares just passing it around amongst themselves for most of the first half.

    Gotta love the commentary
"Gamble should have taken the gamble"
"The ball was just too long for Long."

Now I know at of people give out about Dundalks pitch but that pitch is just terrible.

Imagine what would have happened if Roy Keane was asked to play on this pitch?

    Henderson on for Colgan
    O'Halloran on for Murphy

Ireland playing 4-5-1 with Stokes on the right. Can tell the heat is having an affect on all the irish players.

Shane Long is one of the most naturally athletic players i've seen for a long (no pun intended) time. He was destined to be a professional athlete of some description. I think he would have been an Olympic athlete.

    No hat for Stan

    Think current team is...

    Henderson
    Kelly Bennet O'Cearuill O'Halloran
    Stokes Potter Kilbane O'Brien
    Doyle Murphy

    Murphy came on for Gamble.

Babb's commentary is worse than his playing career

Confusing Henderson for Colgan, then forgetting his first name and calling him Mr Henderson, now he is calling Henderson a good Stop shotter ...

For a small fella he is really good at getting up for a header ... not just tonight.
