If all you want is a phone to text or call with; try the new Motorola F3. Does nothing else. Just what a phone should be! Simple and cheap.
I'm trying to upgrade my mobile phone and trying to find a new one. My current one is a Motorola V3 which I hate, and I've been asking people about theirs but everyone seems to hate their phones at present.
I'm with O2, and moving to Bill Pay. I need a phone that just is easy to call and text with really, I don't want a camera, radio or mp3 really. Anyone out there have a phone that they reccomend?
The glass isn't half full or half empty it's just too damn big!

As Irishmen we dilute our sense of nation by depending on the English to bring us our balls
I've got a Nokia 6230i at the moment. It has a camera but pretty basic otherwise. Not a big fan though. I'm going to go Sony Ericsson for my next phone, they tend to be full of gadgets though.
Still hard to beat a basic Nokia if all ya want is cheap and the ability to make calls and send texts.

Just ordered a Nokia 6234 as a free upgrade from Vodafone.
Had a Nokia 6230i and was happy enough with it and since this is the updated 3G version saw no reason to get one of these new fangled ones.
Does anyone actually use 3G stuff?
I have a Sony Ericsson k800i, its class.
Sitting pretty!!!
I had that Nokia previously & one of the most solid phones around although a bit light on bells & whistles now. Got Sony Ericsson replacement last year & while he has similiar functions I am no fan of. Give me the Nokia tried & tested menu & functions anyday. If I was paying the bill I would change...
Anyone got a Palm Treo 680? My Nokia E61 is a pain in the arse and I reckon the Treo is next on my list.

hang on for the iphone lads... its gona be deadly![]()
life is random
Overpriced, underspecced and proprietary. I don't think so.
W800 and W810
Great phones then they work but seriously dodgy with crashing and needing a reboot.

Have the Nokia N91, with almost a year now.
It's my personal phone, not my work phone.
Going to replace it with the Nokia N95, if Vodafone get their act together and make it available in Ireland.
Hate being in London and seeing the range of phone available, then come home & see dinosaurs!
My work phone is a Sony Ericsson K750i
Great battery life.
Have Boot Disk, will travel
Yes and no. The OpenMoko will be free across the board - software and hardware - if it comes to fruition, but I don't know whether that'll actually happen or not; the Sharp Zaurus runs on Linux, but getting one is tricky; and there are a rake of Linux-based phones on the way - notably from MOT - but I don't know how open the applications on them will be. Some phones are certainly more open than others though: the Palm phones based on PalmOS, for example, are definitely more platform independant than other smartphones. The iPhone won't be, by any stretch of the imagination. Apple aren't reknowned for their openess.

Quality testing, my jam roll!
They stock more Nokia, than any other brand.
If their testing was as good as they claim, they'd never have approved the Nokia N91.
With regard to Operating Systems, all the N Series phones from Nokia, run on Symbian S60, which is Unix based.

I've the Nokia 6230i. Grand phone but battery is cack. Have it over a year now but
after about 6-8 months I've had to charge it almost once a day, and I just use it for
calls and txt. Rarely use the camara or play games etc.
Had a Sony Ericsson before that but I'm not a fan of them.
