The cost at the minute for 2 UMBRO balls is roughly 80 euro.

That works out at 800 by 80 which ends up bein again roughly 64000 euro.

Add to this that probably a quater of the clubs will have to get 1 replacement ball durin the cup run, thats 200 by 40 which is 8000 euro.

UMBRO stand to make 72000 euro for sponsoring our FAI junior and intermediate cups.

I would love to know whos bright idea this was, I dont think it is the best deal in the world to accept a sponsorship deal ( for what 100000 or 150000 )and give 72000 back
The next thing is that the FAI will insist that every club must also buy the hi-vis yellow balls, Umbro of course, for those dark days during the winter months!!

The FAI are a bunch of tossers!

    Conflict of intrest?

Just wondering how this affects the LDMC. The leagues are sponsored by Errea who provide a kit free to every team that wins the league and balls complete with LDMC logos at a reduced rate. Surely they're not going to be happy with this?

    Angry proper order Bono

Teams shoultd tell their own league commitees that they are not goin to abide by this rulin.

On things like this,no matter how clubs get on we should all stick together.I hope Cruize ans Co get to read this the mupprets

We were told the same thing at an MDL club management meeting ie. that we were being asked to use Umbro footballs in FAI Junior Cup matches. We were also told that they usually cost €65/70 but that they were working on bringing in a special rate of €35.

No-one mentioned anything about kits though.

most leagues have their own sponsor, who are not going to be happy.
but i don't think this is going to be enforced, maybe every club will have to buy 3 footballs 120E that would'nt be tobad, but the big question is who is going to inspect each club in the country?? is it the REF'S??.
Its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it

Can you wear Umbro kit with your own sponsor?

What happens to clubs that have just forked out money on a new kit?

Do you get a home or away strip if that is what you currently have? If not, What if kits clash - whats happens there?

I agree with getting a standard football for all junior football - this makes sense as long as its enforced, I can see however clubs lodging objections because the wrong ball was used.

Interesting to see where this goes
