Ireland's Four Nations squad announced
The Ireland squad to take part in the Four Nations Tournament in Scotland next week was today formally announced by manager Mick Neville.
Ireland will face England, Scotland and Wales in the annual tournament, which this year will be held in Scotland. Neville has named a 21-man squad for the tournament.
The Four Nations Tournament is held every year, with Ireland having hosted the event two years ago.
A number of very well known players have represented Ireland in the Four Nations Tournament. Reading’s Shane Long played in the tournament two years ago, while Sunderland’s Daryl Murphy captained the Ireland side three years ago. Eamon Zayed (Drogheda United) and Ronan Finn (UCD) are amongst the current stars of the eircom League of Ireland to have played for Ireland in the tournament.
“The Four Nations Tournament is a really great opportunity for young players to further develop themselves”, said manager Mick Neville. “We’ve got a strong squad with some excellent young players, so we’re really looking forward to this tournament.”
