Not a great spectacle but Chelsea were very good at doing what they set out to do. Ferguson again gets the tactics wrong and is out of a cup competition (should have played 4-4-2).
Not the best game but thought Chelsea were the only team trying to win it (borne out by the substitutions). Mourinho was right in saying that he won it tactically. I thought Utd were really poor - only impressed by their centre backs.
New Wemberlee is excellent by the way - great to be in a massive stadium where you don't need binoculars to see the action.
Together with all our hearts.

"Not the best game" "not a great specatcle" It was utter utter rubbish. Worst game of football all season.
Hansen,Shearer and Lineker are three right boring tossers, then we have a complete borefest of a final with those clowns Motty and Lawro trying to out gag each other, rubbish day in front of the box.
MOT
Watched the Conference play off final yesterday and it was a far better game to watch.
Utd need a new striker and another winger (maybe Ribery) to take over from Giggs in time. Carrick is an absolute waster - hopefully they send him back to Spurs in exhange for Berbatov plus cash.
Chelski are a hard team to beat but not pleasing on the eye.
"If God had meant football to be played in the air, he'd have put grass in the sky." Brian Clough.
You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!
It's not everyday I fall asleep watching a game of football on the tv but I dozed through a lot of this.
To be fair to the BBC, unlike Sky, they admitted the game was woeful.
I think Giggs' days are numbered. Ronaldo contributed next to nothing and as for Wright-Phillips: hopeless.
Leaving Rooney on his own to toil up front - what was Ferguson thinking?
Did O'Shea actually touch the ball after he came on as a sub? Not sure he did.
That said, FA Cup Final classics have been few and far between
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
Terrible game.
I thought the teams might rise to the "New Wembley" factor - but it was played at walking pace at times.
There was an element of both teams cancelling each other out to a cartain extent.
It adds to the school of thought that the bigger teams don't appear to put as much credence on the FA Cup as in the past. Perhaps the pursuit of the Champions League can account for this.
Quoting years at random since 1975
To be honest, I feel you only get a handfull of really entertaining games from teh Premiership over the season(on TV). I support United(although they a very distant second to Linfield) but the dross that english football serves is a joke and although they have more supporters, better facilities, better promotion, more money and the players are more technically gifted, that doesn't mean they serve more entertaining football than our local stuff.
The Hallion Battalion Molests football.:D
The problem with Saturday was Man Utd and Chelsea where both too scared of losing. So instead of going out to win the game, they tried to prevent losing it(I probably haven't worded it well, but try and understand what im saying lol)
If both teams went out to win the game, we would have witnessed a classic.

But United have been hailed this year for playing the best football and winning with style etc. etc. Load of crap, against the bigger teams they have been far from pleasing on the eye.

All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
I see what you're saying, Chelsea are to blame.
Unfortunately these days there's so much money in top level football clubs literally can't afford to lose.
Hence you get horribly defensive games like the FA Cup final.
I'd imagine the Champions' league final will be pretty much the same, though if it's anything like the last match between Liverpool and Milan I may change my opinion.![]()

The club is just one of many factors. The managers and players are under pressure to win trophies in order to command better salaries/avoid losing their jobs.
Mourinho winning that trophy won't have done his reputation any harm but I doubt the Chelsea board would have been at all happy with just a Carling Cup.
