This morning.
My father came home from town today with a couple of bags - he'd been rooting around some old record and book shops.
Anyway - he passes me this tape - saying "This may interest you".
Put in on the tape recorder - and lo and behold - in pretty good (near perfect quality) - a recording of The Memories song "The Game" that they recorded for teh 1990 World Cup comes out of the speakers at me (it's the one that sounds like the Billy Joel classic "We didn't start the fire")

While we are on the subject ... anyone got the Euro 88 squad song .. Ireland, Ireland show them we got .. we can beat the lot. For some reason . .. I remember hearing Gabriel Egan's legendary commentary during the song .. I think it was released as a b-side to the 1990 one.
