Valencia - Training camp in Dublin

According to reports in the Valencia press, Valencia CF are currently finalising the details of their pre-season training camp in Dublin. Apparently they're planning to spend eight to ten days there, probably in late July or August.

I had no idea that continental clubs did their pre-season training in Ireland; the Spanish clubs usually head to places like The Netherlands or Austria.

I'd imagine that this will involve friendlies against local opposition.

Do we have the facilities for more than one such visit in Ireland ?

It's not as if we're flushed with quality training facilities for premier athletes in football.

The facilities in the University of Limerick are top notch and would be able to handle a top class team

Dont think those players have anything to offer the eL. I'd put Valencia at mid-championship level, which is about 3 divisions below the eL.

Limerick could have a look, I suppose. Can get a few people in the door when you sign a Johnny Foreigner, even if he's rubbish. I say give that kid Silva from the Canary's a go, sure he'd be used to Irish people taking the ****.
