    Election specials

with the election coming up, wonder is there any good bets we can get on?

M McDowell to lose a seat? just got in last time?. 2/1

felix gallagher in dublin west down from 16/1 to 7/1..is there something we dont know here? have the shinners down their work?

g geraghty 6/1!!! just hope he can remember he is representing Fg and not FF
no chance he will get elected, not with parts of westmeath included this time around!

david cullinane at 5/2 in waterford?

turnout.59% or under at 10/1, for a friday, hot, and people dont care anymore?

ff/lab/green..still a decent enough price at 7/4, if you have the money thats a good bet
    but ff/sf..........10/1
    or ff/greens/pds at 12/1 ,
you never know with the FF crowd, once they get desperate and all that.just look at mary o rourke, at 70 or more....you would think she would call it a day

anyway would be interested to know what ye guys think,
and try not to get into the politics of it all, just for gambling purposes and all that

Surely FF and Labour wouldn't need the greens
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

Quite a good bet considering how many winners there are. 4 out of 10 is the norm

Highly unlikely. Its a 3 seater. Lenihan is safe. The two from Joe Higgins, Joan Burton and Leo Varadker.

Yeah but if anyone takes it I'd imagine it would be Varadker. Remember last time round Mary Lou didn't even make a dent in this constituency.

Galway West looks to be interesting - the Greens are going to take a seat so it will be either the PDs or FG who will lose out. The last time the PDs just scraped in as they ran 3 candidates and didn't transfer votes properly. FG did something similar.
This would have been one of the PDs safe seats before with Bobby Molloy but since he's retired I think they could well lose it and Padraic McCormack could be worth a bet at 4/5 to hold his seat.

There's also an interesting bet with Ladbrokes as to who will get the most 1st preference votes in the country. Willie O'Dea and Michael Martin are the favourites but Cavan/Monaghan, which is a 5-seater, is only electing 4 this year as the Ceann Comhraile doesn't have to stand for election and 2 candidates got 10k+ votes in that constituency last time so with an extra 5k votes to be spread out that's where the value could lie.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

I fancy a higher turn out than last time as a lot of people were removed from the list (i recently learnt i still has vote in Cork despite changing to Dublin over 5 years ago).

I think PP had 9/4 for greater than 65%.

Mary Harney is 4-1 on to win a seat and 5-4 to lose her seat, with PP. Not much value there!

In a 4 seater seat, they have 5 candidates odds on

I think there is zero chance of Harney not getting in and Curran topped it last time out so it would seem to be a scrap after those two.
