It's actually a really good edition with some interesting features this month, if you skip the Celtic bit.

The L37 article is a bit suss, admiteddly. Ger Finnin is quoted thus; "We want to tell people who follow top British clubs to keep supporting them, but follow Limerick 37 as well. Make us your second team", pleads Finnin. "Let's design a scarf that says Manchester United on one side and Limerick 37 on the other, so they can feel part of both clubs."

At first this seems a bit annoying but on second thoughts why not. There is hardly a supporter at Limerick games (or any eL games) that doesn't support a British team. And if they're willing to look that silly why not sell them a scarf with both clubs on it. Give the consumers what they want and all that.

The only thing is will a Celtic fan buy a scarf that is blue on one side?

I remember going to Anfield on a school tour (lost 1-0 to Villa btw) and someone wanted a Liverpool/Celtic scarf (cause of the great links they have!!!!) when we got there, surprise surprise half the clubs in Europe where represented on these types of scarfs BUT according to the guy selling them they are big sellers, the ones with Celtic/Liverpool and RANGERS/Liverpool are the most popular according to the bin dipper who unsuccesfully tried to distract up while his mates took 5 mins to realise there was no hub-caps on our bus! anyway............................if its brings in extra cash lash em out! il have a Limerick/Lazio one please Mr Finnin!

So LTID is not the only ultra right-wing supporter then. Better get the Israeli flag up next to the Palestinian one fairly sharpish.

LTID right wing???? guess who owns the offending article (palestinian flag)? he went up to the Shels game with a red t-shirt with CCCP across it!! he only took it off cause he was reminded what colour Shels play in, there is hope in the fact that its probably only a studenty phase hes going through.

Good coverage for the club. Would be a little embarrassed by joint L37/Manure/Chelski/other club scarves personally but look forward to reading the article anyway.

Thanks for your comment. When we can sell a ground for a few million euros and can turn our noses up at any opportunity to earn a few bob we'll adopt a superior attitude too.

At least I stick by my club!

How many different LOI clubs have you supported? You must be on at least your second?

    Profile Profile Profile

    Hi

The reason we have been contacting all and every media outlet is to raise the profile of the club. I agree that there are some who would like to have supporters ONLY support an FAI EL club, but lets be realistic here, the seasons overlap and while there can be no debate on the level of support for cross channel teams, we must try to attract these young fans back. One way is to incorporate their existing clubs into the support for Limerick 37. I am sure that if we can get a few fans who watch teams only on TV to come to a Limerick 37 home game we will keep them coming as there is no comparison between watching a game surrounded by the passion of home supporters and the sterile experience of a TV. So we pass no apology for using every and any means to attract the supporters who are currently looking east for their football fix.

See, there's your first mistake there, trying to use common sense with a Bohs fan.

As for how many clubs I've supported - current count I'd say is 4 (Limerick United, Limerick City, Limerick FC and Limerick 37). Or in other words I support senior football in my city. Explain to me- what's your problem - football fans supporting foreign teams or football fans supporting their home town eL team?

    Hi LFC

I have no problem what so ever and commend you for supporting your home team,

L37 advocating that they should be your second team behind ___<insert Brit team here>. That's embarrassing!

I reckon I have better grasp of common sense than most around Limerick who just switch teams at the drop of a hat.

I know a LFC fan who's now actually started supporting Bohs.

    Couldn't agree more

At a Strrrrrrreeeetttttttttcccccccchhhhhhhh I would put up with L37/Real Madrid, L37/Southampton, L37/Torino etc scrafs but random successful British clubs.............

L37 first and foremost, Brit team second if that's your thing

At least I stick by my club!

    What a stoopid comment

Also before you come on here giving out to the Anglophiles (I happen to agree with you btw) you might want to look at the apes aping casual culture at your own club

So LTID is not the only ultra right-wing supporter then. Better get the Israeli flag up next to the Palestinian one fairly sharpish.
    Another stoopid comment
