"Owls boss Brian Laws has informed Barry Corr, John Hills Steve Adams, Chris Adamson and Andy Broadbent that they will not be offered new deals at Hillsborough." (from Sky Sports)
Adams, Broadbent and Corr fair enough, bit surprised by Adamson and Hills. We must have a decent keeper lined up for competition with Crossley next year if Adamson has been shown the door, Hills though i would have kept regardless, have always had a bit of a liking for him I must admit
wonder if Adamson will come back to the EL.
Always look on the bright side of life
This brought a smile to my face

I mean, while we're at it, why don't Wednesday fans buy some Sheffield United colours for the protest and all
Some funny comments left in the comment section too, these two are my favourites
Wednesday Fan "The blunts want US to go and support them in their push to be re-instated to the prem/punish west ham??? Why!!! That's like (no offence intended here) the Germans asking the Jewish for help in fending off the Russians from the final siege on Berlin in the WW2!!!", bit of an overstatement but still, and this one somes it all up nicely,
West Ham fan "haa i cannot believe what sheff united asked u to do! they really are a pathetic embarresment to english football."

For anyone interested in retro Wednesday gear check out www.toffs.co.uk for one site but there are others too.
Never liked that blue short with white sleeves (Arsenal style) that they wore in the 1960s. Delighted when they went back to blue and white stripes, albeit with the same lack of progress on the field.
I knew their scout in Ireland a few years back. Obviously wasn't very good at spotting Irish talent, although he may have spotted Quinn and Geary.
Off the top of my head, Irish players who played for the Owls:
Sheridan
McKeever
Corr
Coughlan
Quinn (Alan)
Geary
Partridge
Whelan
Who have I forgotten?
Manager: Honorary Irishman Jack Charlton

Looks like George O Callaghan is in talks with signing for Weds.
As Irishmen we dilute our sense of nation by depending on the English to bring us our balls
With all due respect to George, not exactly someone who's going to turn around their almost annual poor start to a season.
Sigh!

4 on the bounce. Trundle did ok against them but nothing special but he did set us the goal for Bristol City. Only 17k at the game. Oh for the heady days of Chris Waddle, John Sheridan, Paulo di Canio, David Hirst etc etc until David Pleat got his hands on the team.

any pressure on Laws yet? He didn't do too badly last year but you know how fickle football fans are.

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!
Of course. "Laws out!" is the cry of many Wednesday fans on some Owls' Boards. Seen it all before. I dread to think of the number of Wednesday managers I have watched come and go. He had a good end to last season but most fans' memories are short.
Only managers I had real belief in were Big Ron Atkinson, Howard Wilkinson and Paul Jewell (but he wasn't given time).

well if you kick him out then I'm sure Forest would love one of their old boys. Calderwood has another couple of months (by my estimation) but if they are still in the bottom half by November then he could be on his way.

LAWS OUT!!
Not really though, I reckon he should at least be given til Christmas after what he did with us last year, if we are still bottom or cut adrift in relegation at that time, then I could understand wanting him gone. After all the mocking of Leeds fans I wouldn't be able to watch as they pass us out next May.
Plus I'd add Trevor Francis to your list of manager's I had belief in
