It's the nature of some football fans the world over (including you're beloved British football to any hacks reading - Munich Songs, Lids fans, Hillsborough, songs about incidents in the North etc)

Rovers have apologised, said they're going to investigate it, and deal with it if/ when they get the evidence. I'm really not sure what else they can do? The apology is more than most clubs would've fookin managed. Just to reiterate, the abuse was totally unacceptable, but Rovers should be given time to investigate it.

Best post on the subject so far.

To be clear though it shouldnt have happened. Be careful tarring all the Rovers fans with the same brush because of the actions of a few.

Once again apologies to the Webb family.

What I cant understand about this is if there are so many "genuine" Rovers fans sickened and angry about what happened on Friday night then why did'nt they do something about it at the time?
I recall the so-called "linesman" incident at United Park a few years ago when a Drogheda fan attacked the official. The genuine Drogs fans there refused the person involved an escape back onto the terrace and pointed out the individual to the Gardai , and followed it up with statements and appeared as witnesses in the court case.
Why did'nt the "genuine" Rovers fans act in a similar way on Friday night? Until the fans root out these thugs themselves then this is something that Rovers are going to be stuck with for a very long time.

Trust me If I'd heard it I'd have acted. I've done it before with racist crap at Rovers as have many others.

Macy - Be careful, level-headed, objective posts about Rovers are not welcome around here.
