    4. We own/control the local pub.

one or the other or both?
to clear this up the pub Mcdowells if officially owned by Shelbourne developments aka Garrett kelleher but is run under the club umbrella meaning in tandem with the new administration in charge of club affairs.

The wages must have increased this year as Ndo, O'Neill and others have signed. It's been offset to date by share capital, which is at least healthier than Drogheda's situation, but if the FAI ever implement this 65% of turnover idea for wages, there'd have to be a big cut-back (although you may be able to cheat and use some creative accounting to count all pub turnover as club turnover or something). So yez wouldn't do a Shels, but worst case scenario, you might have to cut back the wages and at least drop back into the pack.

Anyway, that last is pure speculation and logic. I was only asked to back up the large losses claim, and I've done that.

Wages for ndo and Oneill paid for by the transfer of Molloy, pub is packed most nights mainly with knackers but the new manager filling it. Crowds increasing and paying highest ticket prices in league.

Our new owner will make every penny back he puts in plus a profit from the redevelopment and still promising to put 15 million into the club as "giving something back" The plans he has spoke with DCC are great for the area and much needed but also profit making.

Well, your 2006 accounts should be filed in the next few days, so it'll be interesting to see what they show.

I know there's a lot of changes in Richmond, but half a million is still a very large deficit to reduce. It's the sort of losses which, in recent years, have only been matched by Shels and Dublin City (and now Drogheda), which is why I'm sceptical as to exactly how long it can last. Sure we'll see what happens.

Stu, nothing wrong with the facts you've posted but bear in mind that all the losses (including 2006) were pre-Special K. Given that he bought out all the existing shareholders for well in excess of a million quid, plugging accumulated deficits from previous years shouldn't be an issue.

To clarify on the McDowell's question, a consortium including Special K and Andy O'Callaghan among others bought the pub last year. All profits after payment of bank interest are channeled into the club, not sure how. As kdjac said, the place is now being run in a way that'll maximise those profits.

As regards the future, the Paddy Power sponsorship is worth not far short of a million over the three years, crowds are up as per your own stats and that in turn should further boost merchandise income from having two new jerseys with the new sponsor's logo. Throw in a reasonable expectation (being very pessimistic just to tie in with the tone of the thread) of additional injections of cash via shareholder's funds (note the position of the apostrophe) and I'd say our financial future looks very un-Shelslike.

Oh, and we were brilliant last night.

The 2006 figures will be from our former regime, they kept the club afloat albeit at a loss much like every other club (except UCD of course).

The club knew about the Kelleher deal for almost 8 months and it was either move out sell ground or him, thankfully it went to him.

BTW most of our losses were because of lack of income as opposed to massive over spending. Our budget for the last couple of years have not been anything near the top of the league. I know they were more than income, but they weren't much more than expected income. However our crowds were down massively and other areas suffered

Bazza Ryan kept seven consecutive clean sheets for us in 2002/03 - approx 650 minutes not including injury time (going back to Bohs' late equaliser in the previous game; don't remember what minute that was though, surprisingly).
