    Portlaoise enter league

Good to see another new team entering. They'll have their work cut out the Leinster section though.

Their facilities are good with potential to upgrade to Division 1 standard with relatively little expenditure. They have already played one or two home FAI Senior Cup ties at the venue.

Was down there last year for a pre-season friendly. Tbh, the facilities would struggle to make first division standard, there are no spectator facilities, there is a clubhouse comprising the dressing rooms, the pitch is basically a big garden, and that's er.... it.

The country isn't laden with pre-made big time clubs with wonderful stadia waiting to join the LOI. Once there's existing structures, something of a ground and a decent demographic a club should at the very least get a crack at the U-21 league or the new 'A' Championship.
