    U-19 squad for Czech Friendlies

Squad announced for 2 games against the Czechs, this is the final preparation for the Elite qualifiers to be held in Ireland in May

    from fai.ie
    Under-19 International Friendly Games

    Tuesday, April 24th
Czech Republic v Republic of Ireland
    Hlinkso, Kick-off 16.30 hrs

    Thursday, April 26th
Czech Republic v Republic of Ireland
    Chocen, Kick-off 17.00 hrs

    REPUBLIC OF IRELAND SQUAD:
    Stephen Henderson Aston Villa
    Shane Redmond Nottingham Forest
    Simon Madden Leeds United
    Edward Nolan Blackburn Rovers
    Michael Spillane Norwich City
    Darren Dennehy Everton
    Brendan Moloney Nottingham Forest
    Kevin McArdle Dundalk
    Alan Judge Blackburn Rovers
    Robert Bayly Leeds United
    Stephen Gleeson Wolverhampton Wanderers
    Alan Power Nottingham Forest
    Matthew Cassidy Bolton Wanderers
    James Ryan Liverpool
    Karl Moore Manchester City
    Cillian Sheridan Celtic
    Adam Rooney Stoke City
    Aidan Downes Everton
    Paul Marshall Manchester City
    Paul Cahillane Celtic

Nolan, Spillane, Gleeson, Sheridan and Rooney all have first team experience this season.

AFAIK this is Paul Marshall's first call up, until this I believed he was English. He's an attacking midfielder type, played in the Youth Cup Final last season

Quite possibly, there's nothing about his call up on the fai, or man city sites though. If I hear anything, I'll post it here

I'll keep an eye out for the Nottm Forest lad (Power), not seen him in the flesh as of yet.

If Ferry remains good enough for international honours, surely he's good enough to be given a go for Derry?

Its not like he's fighting off stiff competition in the goalkeeping department.

    Well done anyway Eugene.

A lot different playing against men, than 17/18 year old kids though

Haverty currently plays with Pats u17 side. He played a couple of times for the senior side in pre season

That squad seems to be changing a lot each time.

Two squads ago, there were two eL players (Greg Bolger and Darren Forsyth from UCD), the last squad there were none and now there are four different squads. Anyone got a link to previous squads?

These are for friendly games so I presume he's giving everyone a chance. Haverty played a couple of times for the u18s last year so I know he's been invilved before. its his first u19 call up

Jay O'Shea hasn't played much for us this season, if at all. He's still a great prospect.

Whats this guy James O'Shea like? What position does he play in? Anyone know how much he has left on his contract?
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Jay O'Shea plays up front. He is a quick skillful forward. I haven't seen too much of him but he does semmpromising. And for our sake I hope there's a fair few years left on his contract.

I'd have thought Cathal Lordan would have been given a look in here.
    Maybe he's overage.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.
