If we can beat Kildare next week we'll face Pat's at Richmond. It's perhaps not as bad a draw as it sounds on paper as Pat's have a heavy schedule and may well opt for a second string side.

On the other hand we're playing Cork on the Thursday before hand and yourselves the following weekend so we'll be more rested than most. We've a small enough squad.
Last year McDonnell rested about 4/5 players against a first division side and they beat us

That's no gag. A few clubs still recognise the league cup for what it is, a tertiary competition. Pats know they are likely to get into the Setanta through other means and that getting to Europe is a bigger priority.
