If anyone has any links to other sites (missing a few clubs) .. just stick them in here and i'll add them to the main post.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Sorry for some shameless self-promotion, but on my blog you can find my own report about Cliftonville-Donegal Celtic: http://gerritonline.com/me (it's written towards people as well who aren't familiar with Irish football, hence the maybe somewhat boring introduction for you all who know the teams well already)
    Visit my favourite teams :

New Club hoping to take their place (eventually):

    http://www.omaghunitedfc.com/

Welcome to the new and impressive website of Omagh United Football Club.

It gives me great satisfaction to see that our club is now off the ground, and about to embark on what we are convinced will be an exciting and successful journey, with the aim of bringing a higher level of soccer back to the town of Omagh.

For many years this town had prided itself on the fact it was one of a few locations outside of Greater Belfast and its hinterlands that had senior soccer being played in its area, but sadly this came to an end a few years ago. That void on the local soccer scene meant that the talented footballers that this town frequently produces had to travel to neighbouring senior clubs to develop and progress their careers. This is something which couldn't be allowed to continue, and subsequently three of Omaghs most forward thinking junior clubs, namely Sperrin Athletic, Kevlin United and Omagh United Youth met with a view to set up a new vision for soccer in this area, and form a club that everyone would be happy to follow, support and see grow and mature over the years ahead.

I am delighted to be able to say that after numerous meetings and discussions between the three clubs that everyone involved had the same vision and ambitions, and Omagh Utd was born. A structure was put in place and the club has went from strength to strength over a short space of time.

The support we have received to date has been tremendous from sponsors, local councillors and well wishers alike, and its this goodwill factor that makes me believe that we are part of what will be a very big picture of soccer development in the months and years to come in Omagh.

I wish to take this opportunity to formally thank the three clubs for what they have given to local junior soccer in the area over the years, it has been brave decision on all the clubs behalf to leave their individual clubs and traditions behind, and they must be congratulated on the way that all the various committees have bonded and gelled together so quickly and efficiently, and I look forward to working with each and everyone of them over the months and years ahead. During all our meetings, it was always voiced that there were to be no losers in this venture and that everyone was to be a winner , and Im glad to say that is how everything has worked out.

To the future we aim to provide top class coaches, managers and facilities to all our members and staff, and that total professionalism will be evident in everything we do, both on and off the pitch. We, like all clubs want to be successful on the pitch, and I firmly believe we will. With the team of background staff and players we have at our disposal I can't see it being any other way.

We aim to create a brand that will be recognisable, not just locally but across the length and breadth of Ireland and synonomous with all that is good in sport. We are a cross community organisation and encourage members from all walks of life, and cultures to join our club and enjoy what we have to offer.

Our youth set up is in our opinion second to none, and already many of the local children in the town and surrounding areas are being coached by our qualified coaches at Youth Sport Omagh.

To end, I just wish the club every success both on and off the field and want it to be something that everyone in Omagh can be proud of, please support us, and come and cheer on all our teams and enjoy what I feel will be a very exciting era for soccer in Omagh again.

    Yours in Sport

I know that many of you pop over to ILF from time to time. ILF will soon be closing its forum sections. A new site has opened to take its place and all reds fans are welcome to join. There is no charge for this new site and it can be found here.

Back to back titles for Crusaders. Great achievement. Stephen Baxter must be some manager to lord it over the big two up north.
