Er, where did you here this?

And I think he can move, Schumi or one of the other students would have to confirm this but as far as I know Doyler is on a scholarship to us. Again I'm not sure but I don't think he can leave.

As far as I know, Clive and Robbie are both unlikely to leave this summer, while Bazza is 50-50. Ashley Bayes has just signed a new contract with Bohs.

I presume Doyler is doing Sports Management or something in college - if he is, then I can't see him going.

    He only

signed a 1 year contract with them which ends in the summer. Why do you think Dolan is not starting him at the moment ????? it's certinaly not because R.Martin and Gallen are better than him ! i know for a fact that Bohs are talking with him at the moment and Shels have asked to speak to him.

Because he's not playing for St. Pats would be my guess.

As for Doolin not playing him, my guess is that it's a 'you're not indispensible' message. He's played better than recently when he's come on so maybe it's working.

As for going to Bohs, surely he'd be better staying for a second season and finishing his sports' management course rather than playing in Bohs' reserves.

ok, lets put this to bed once and for all

Doyler is in talks with Bohs at the moment. nothing in deffinat as of yet but talks are on going. DOOLIN isnt playing him for this reason and is trying put put pressure on him this way to make him sign a new contract. This is FACT. Kenny wants him to come in as Crowe's 1st choice partner, as the other bray turncoat (keegan) is heading back stateside. thats leaves bohs with o'neill as there only other option and Kenny sees robbie as a great long term investment.

I personally would like him to stay at UCD for another season as they have been a good club for him to find he's feet in the EL. This is his first full season and has really shown sublime touches of class, it would help along further as a player and help him make the jump up to Full Time football with Bohs

And again I'll ask, where are you getting this from?

Do you have a link? was it in a paper?

I think this guy is his cousin (although I could be mixing him up with another Seagull's nest!)

With respect, i don't think Doolin would bench a player who he knows is his best striker with a few games to go to try and secure safety simply because he was threatening to leave. Even if this was/is the reason, i don't think it's a very good method...ie, showing a player what it's like to sit on the UCD bench in trying to persuade him to stay? Fact is, Gallen and Martin have gelled well at the close of season. I think it's quite possible Robbie will start in Cork tho. Looking at the bray highlights last nite reminded me how weak we were up front.

Your other comments Seagulls Nest seem to make good sense. If that is true about Keegan heading to the US and Kenny wants Doyle then the prospect of 1st team footie at Bohs may be a little too good for Robbie to turn down. However, if he is willing to stay with UCD for another season, he'll have a qualification in sports management and be a more mature, more experienced player.

My opinion of Robbie Doyle is basically that he is a young exiting talent who loves playing football. Even with the small crowds at UCD he gets a little buzz. His comments on hospital pass about the UCD hardcore show that he notices fans that shout for (or at!!!) him. I missed the first half of the season. In the first few games i saw him, Rovers and Longford, he tended to be very lazy in coming back from attacks and not want to do much running. I remember himself and Finn having a row on the pitch to this effect at one stage. This changed dramatically thought in the games against Drogheda and Pats which started our excellent run and it was great to see him working his arse off in those games. Hopefully he'll hang around and we'll get the benefit of having him next season again.

As regards Sean Finn, theres another excellent player who missed a good few games at the end of the season...anyone any ideas there? The midfield was Cawley, Mcnally, Tony Mac and Johnny Martin towards the end of season. Was there simply no room for him? I thought himself and Doyle were developing a good understanding of each other and i really liked Finns tendency to have a go at a defence from midfield, rather than just knock the ball away.

I tell you, we haven't a bad little squad...have we!

    Andy.

    i probably

agree with most of what you say. UCD have a great little set up and with Doolin they can make a name for themselves. They have some super players and if they could only get someone to partner Robbie up front they would cause teams a lot more problems, personally (ive nothing againist the lads, i dont even know them !!!) i dont think Gallen is up to this level - he has'nt given the team anything extra, scored etc.... and R. Martin is very light and weak, he takes to much out of the ball at times. Ive been to most of UCD's home games and a few away and have been very impressed by the way they have got stonger as the season as went on.

    Re: There's

Sean Finn has been injured for a while. I think the Times said he would have been fit for either Drogs or Bray, I forget which, so he might be back for Cork but who would you drop?

    From a non UCD fans

point of view (but as ive said i seen quite alot of you games this season) i'd drop R. Martin. Finn offers the team much more, holds the ball up better, creats more openings and scores more goals (i think ? just)

    and play finn up front?

    That's a fairly decent idea...

    Bazza

    Sullivan
    Delaney
    McAuley
    Ryan

    Cawley
    McNalley
    Tony Mac
    Johnny M

    Doyle
    Finn

He's been played up there before...
