"Start me up" by the Rolling Stones was on the radio today which made me think...

Wasn't that tune used in an RTE show called "Start me Up" for Entrepreneurs hosted by Niall Quinn circa 1994....

Seems mad to think now that a full time pro footballer would simultaneously host a tv show as well
Maybe it was to keep him sane while recuperating from cruciate knee ligament injuries?

Did anyone else hear Niall Quinn say something along the lines of, "That should be goodnight Irene" after Arsenal scored their 3rd or 4th against Wigan a few weeks ago?

Especially seeing as you'd resisted the temptation for over 3 years!

Well given how it was no doubt buried 3 years ago with Euro 2012 qualification talk, it's no surprise I may have missed it.

    Smart ar$e.

Didn't know about that bus change thing, what a great idea! And it makes me hate Dublin Bus slightly less (fares are still much too high though)

    Turned 50 on Thursday... Jaysus.

    He liked his big equalisers:

    Netherlands

    England

    Denmark

Is that Jaysus about being 50 in general or Niall being 50 ? Not that surprising really when you consider that he was playing in the early 1980s. Good player.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

About Niall being 50 really. He doesn't look all that different bar being a bit heavier. And just a general bombshell that a player I remember playing so well now being 50 - I don't dispute the maths though.

He was my first favourite Irish player!
