    Scarves and Flags Aloft

I know its almost impossible to co-ordinate these things but what does everyone think of the canal end crowd raising scarves and flags above our heads for the duration of the national anthems.

I think it would be a simple gesture and a rousing message of support for the players and management. I think they could do with it.

only thing is, the players will have their backs to the canal end for the anthems!

Another thing, just reminded me when you said about the canal end, but from my vantage point in the cusack stand, that was where the mexican wave started. Dont want to see another one of those tonight.

All inconsequential boys - nothing wrong with people trying to enjoy themselves. Back to the point - maybe this is for another day - maybe it might happen by accident.

Holding a scarf above my head isn't how I was taught to behave during my national anthem. Perhaps it's something we can save for later in the game.

We're not Portugal, I agree with Peadar. Also don't like when they get people in to sing the anthems, I find it more vocal and rousing when its the crowd you can hear!

unfortunately croke park has all the acoustics of a wet blanket so while it may have been impressive standing amongst some singers in the crowd, judging from tv coverage at least, it was all rather mute at pitch level.

Worst rendition of the Irish national anthem i have ever heard..think it was that Jack L singer ?
Thought he was going to explode singing it ,absolutely murdered it

In comparison to the singer who sang the welsh national anthem on saturday...my god what a figure on her..maybe that was a tactic by wales to distract the irish players

While it's a shame we have no one like Katherine Jenkins, I'm glad we had no one singing the anthem over the PA as it tends to put the crowd off singing it.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Any Red Dwarf fans here? The prisoners v guards basketball match in season 8 anyone?

Likely to backfire on them though, unless all that sheep stuff is true...
