I was amazed when i seen a large queue for the hot dog stand at the lower davin end....during the match. These people must have been queuing up for at least 30 minutes and missed most of the first half..surely they couldnt be that hungry?
Why bother going to the game if you are going to waste half the match queuing for food?? Unbelievable.

Not relevant for tonight because he's not playing but...........

The Man U tune "Eric the King" could be adapted to "Robbie the King" IF OR WHEN he managed to turn in a few regal performances in the future. Its to the air of Lilly The Pink..........

    We'll drink, a drink, a drink
To Eric the king, the king the king,
He's the leader of our football team.
    He's the greatest,
    centre forward,
that the world, has ever seen.

The FAI had mentioned they were going to bring in something like this after seeing it in Germany. Different type of crowd, the Germans though - used to making an atmosphere at matches like. Didn't work at all on Saturday. Hopefully it'll die a quick death after tonight.

al that band did in germany too was drown out the germans atmosphere.... they were sent down our end in the 2nd half to drown us out. plastic atmospheres never ever work. tried before by FAI and always failed so why introduce??

Lots of people go to Ireland games but never go to any other football games and simply don't know what to do. We've had this conversation before, but many people think that they should be entertained by other fans and complain that they've spent €70 but the other fans wouldn't sing, to create atmosphere for them.

Agreed. I think it'd work if they find the right stuff to play - anyone remember the game, early in the eL section in Lansdowne, when all the eL drummers got together in a row? That worked very well, I thought.

At least three times. That was hilarious.

I dont know, I wasn't at the game but from what Ive been reading here it seems that the el were creating the most noise. Must have been Derry fans or something if it swas they who started the Mexican.

As someone said in another thread it's the schoolboy section in the lower Davin/Cusack corner. They're there to have a bit of fun, not really watch the football so we can excuse them for the mexican wave. Most of the singing starts from them tbh.

That mexican wave starting in the davin/cusack bottom corner is such a pain in the h*le when you're trying to watch the match, it's tense and our goal is being pummled and half the crowd are trying to do this stupid f**ing wave, no interest in the game at all.

    Stupid f**n gormless kids.

The "who are ya" is just plain cringeworthy horribleness.

    I must be getting old.

Great result tho, an improved performance and atmosphere from Saturday.

It's a disgrace - clearly started by people who have no idea what they're supposed to do at a football match. Thankfully it was less successful and prolonged than it was on Saturday (were it went on for 2 or 3 hours it felt like ). Also the Corner kids seemed to try some kind of "boring, boring" chant at one point when Slovakia had a corner or something and they realised that some people in the rest of the Canal End didn't actually care about their stupid wave.

That section absolutely LOVE The Proclaimers as well - they were going crazy when 500 Miles came on before the game

    Talking George Hamilton

was it only me that noticed that Georgie boy takes great pleasure in walking past Gills Corner House 1 hour before game and waiting for his name to be called......

Also any one see one of our African brothers bear hug Eamann Dunphy as he was heading back mid match after having a slash
    Jim Kerr (simple minds) twice divorced - Any advice;

Judging by their attire, there seem to be a lot of Scots over there.

How about "We all dream of a team that plays in green" - doesn't matter whose playing then!!!!

At number one!!! Is a player who plays in green...

    Doesn't work.

Robbie Keane is the obvious choice because he rhymes with green.

'Number 1, he wears the green' would fit (even if it wouldn't be strictly true!). Still don't think it's a great idea though.
