    Training Pitch Wanted!

Just wondering if anyone out there might know where the Bit O'Red might be able to do training on a Grass pitch? Had a formal request yesterday but am unable to help out, our pitch(Or wet farmers Field, am applying for a grant to make it a pitch, but thats another story) would not be able to take more users, especially now that our games and training will be 7 days a week from now on.

Seems that thier own grass area to the north of the all weather pitch is unsuitable, and the all weather game is completely different, so the call is going out.

    All suggestions welcome!

they could approach kevinsfort. rovers u-18s play/played there didnt they.

    mcsharry park...doubt they'd ask though.

always thought scarden could have been jointly developed by senior + junior soccer (along with summerhill) to produce a top class facility. pity seeing it the way it is now.

kevinsfort would probably be their best and handiest option! there is a new pitch in summerhill but it has no goals up yet or anything like that...but it would be another good option for them, they could work in conjunction with the school even get a player or two to take a session with the studnts!?

I presume they are looking for somewhere not far from town?

Kevinsfort as mentioned, the I.T. , Sean Fallon Park, St. Johns pitch in Coolbeg and there's a new pitch up the hill (not sure if it's ready to be played on yet though).

they would want it close to town and handy for the players to get to without much hassel. anything mentiones here so far would be fine! IT would be good, dont know if its used an awful lot anyway.

Kevinsfort will be closed for summer at end of April, overused by up to 20 teams over the winter

I would say location would not matter, transport not an issue.

    Over to our country cousins?

Terryland? We seemed a lot more at home on it than its current residents.

Wouldn't recommend Yeats' pitch, it's worse than what they're training on already. Manor's pitch isn't the worst but possibly too far away. Pitch in Skreen is decent but maybe a bit far away too. Ballisodare was poor the last time i was there but i think they may have had some work done recently. There's a new pitch in Oxfield which is decent enough and doesn't get much use. It is fairly narrow though but the one they are on now is narrow too. Pitch in Grange is average but again narrow. Calry's pitch isn't great. Nothing else comes to mind just now. I think the I.T. is the best option

Let them train in the park out by St. Mary's GAA club. Grass not great but better than Showgies, by a mile!
