Won't happen now. It's down to Schalke and Stuttgart.

And its Stuttgart. 2-1 win against Cottbus gives their first title in 15 years. Schalke get the 2nd champions league spot, Bremen the place in the third qualifying round. Bayern, Leverkusen and Nurnberg the UEFA Cu, and Hamburg the Intertoto.

Aachen, Mainz, and Monchengladbach are relegated, to be replaced by Karlsruhe, Rostock, and Duisburg.

Glad to see Duisburg back. I was impressed by their fans last year. Does anyone know if Mathias Schober is still playing for Hansa Rostock or did he move when they got relegated? He was a great player.

Well done to Stuttgart when Schalke and Werder slipped up they were there to capitalise. They won their last 8 games, that really is title winning form. Also what a goal by Hitzlsperger!

Bayern have been a sorry sight. Far from satisfactory for the club I'm sure. I remember seeing them against HSV and thought they looked very disorganised, even with Otto back.

Looks like Bayern will be stronger next year. Toni, Ribery and Klose all there now. Granted they've lost Hargreaves and Pizarro and Mehmet Scholl has (finally) retired, I still think they'll be a lot better next year.

I was honestly surprised, and annoyed, that Ribery went to Bayern. At the end of the season he said he wanted to say at L'OM and play in the Champion's League next year. But I think money talks. That's the only reason I can think of for leaving a Champion's League team who do have a chance of winning the Championnat next year for a team that'll be playing in the UEFA Cup. That or Pape Diouf argued with him, wouldn't be the first time.

Almost a certainty. Won't be much of a price though.

In fairness he's probably thinking of the long term benefits. Bayern are a better side, play in a stronger league, he'll have chance of winning a league's medal. Also I think a UEFA Cup winner's medal is compensation for a season out of the Champions League.

I don't think the Bundesliga is all that better than the French one. It's physically tougher but apart I don't think the skill level is as high throughout and that really is Ribery's strength.
