    Romario's still got it

Romario scores twice in Copa Brasil tie

RIO DE JANEIRO, March 1 (Reuters) - Former Brazil striker Romario scored twice to take his career tally to 992 goals as Vasco da Gama crushed part-timers Fast Club 6-0 in a Copa Brasil tie on Wednesday.

Unfortunately his career total is very dodgy but it's nice to still see a legend going at 41.

    Against part-timers though...

If he scored a brace against us, I wouldn't necessarily say he's still got it!

pele was the same lads , 1000 goals in his career and he counted all his exhibition games as well , basically where they lined up mug outfits for him to get hat-tricks galore !! Can someone explain if romario did the same or are his 992 goals more legit ?
Was he crazy!! Yeah , in a very special way , an Irishman.

I read an article somewhere that his club were organising games along the same lines as Pele.
    Who Cares?!

No-one will ever touch Gerd Muller's record in 'competitive' games. Der Bomber.

He scored a hattrick in the local state championship. He's on 995 goals now by his count.

    Proved my point...

Let's sign him for our first round League Cup game. Wouldn't prove he still has it. Good luck to him all the same.

So he can wait with the other list of players who can't play until July?

This article outlines where he gets his figures from. Even when you cut out the spurious stuff he has still scored 749 in competitive internationals and club games. An amazing total. He scored another hattrick last week.
