You hit the nail right on the head there ndrog , the 5000 houses will go ahead , but its unlikely that the contract will be given to the Drogs developer , as Drogs want , so IMO the whole stadium affair is still up in the air. Why on earth thay just cant sell off United Park and build a stand-alone stadium is beyond belief , but then again when there is a land-owner , estate agent , propeerty developer and a solicitor on the Drogs board now it doesn't take rocket science to work out where they are coming from.

I got the impression previously that United Park was worth say 7m & new stadium would cost 10m so only shortfall of few million between the two numbers? Surely the government would give grant of 30% of the project therefore no need for 5,000 new homes?

�7m would be a conservative estimate. Its up for rezoning to residential so the sky's the limit , but as I previously posted , the make-up of the current board would indicate that football is not high on their priority list.

Will they get €7million for it? I thought the hospital were buying the land
