Definetely nerves in the field. What a brilliant bit of Irish sport. Best chance will be against Pakistan (albeit slim)who are missing 3 players. Wish I was out there. Instead we will have to put up with Stans rants!

Exactly! Thats why it was such good craic today. No Delaney. No Stan. Less corporate bull**** than you will witness at Croker for the next 2 games. And how many postman are in the 22?

That no-one in Ireland really cares? Oh wait...

Enthralling last half hour or so, I must say. Shame about the couple of hours of tedium which went before. I reckon they should start these games with one team needing an unlikely but just possible target. Remove all the nonsense which goes beforehand!

In fairness the Zimbabwean fielding was awful too

    Fabulously entertaining though.

Close to €11m on the game on betfair I noticed - all wiped due to one ball.

Me da and bro are out at it.

They said the craic was brilliant and the atmosphere was absolutely rocking near the end.

Yes, great game. Irish fielding hopeless but from the game looking dead and buried, they came back to tie the game. Some of the female fans were in tears from the emotions. With 9 needed from the last over we should have won the game. Part-time bowler bowls the last over Surprised at that.

Aidan Cooney on TV3 called the Irish centurian McBrady rather than McBray.

Looking forward to Saturday (after the rugger and the soccer results - lots of channel surfing on the cards).

A real Jeckyl and Hyde game from both teams, great entertainment.

There was enough good in the Irish performance to suggest that they could give Pakistan and the Windies a game...Some gutsy batting from Bray and the middle order, Generally good line and length from the bowlers, generally good fielding.

There was also enough bad in the Irish performance to suggest they could get hockeyed....Top order collapse, poor fielding in pressure situations, lack of any real threat in the bowling.

Not really a cricket fan but it was nice to see that the smaller cricketing nations made the headlines for something positive...

I have noticed that there is alot of sledging from the Aussies about how the little teams shoudlnt be there and that pile of carp!!
At the end of the day it is good for the sport and liek any sport the more publicity it gets around the home nation and the world the better the sport will grow!!

Listened to the last hour or so on BBC Five Live. I found it while channell surfing on NTL digital. Uninterrupted and had me jumping out of my chair. Great excitement. Pity we didn't nick it in the end.

    That was very entertaining.
    Come on to **** Ireland.
    Throw the ****ing thing.

    When's the next match?
    Might get the cans in.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

It starts at 2:30, so the rugby will be into the second half by then (The Ireland rugby match is 1:30 isn't it?). You won't miss too much of the cricket (Unless Ireland get put in and get skittled) if you ask the barman to switch after the rugby

    Highlights on BBC late.

It's on Sky Red Button Interactive thing so it won't be available on NTL

Anyone reckon the pubs will be open to pushing that red button instead of showing whatever wicketless game is on one of the other channels

Feck it - it's only opposite Bangladesh v India. Sky should really make it their main game after yesterday's performance.
