Unless Zimbabwe beat Pakistan too. If we win (and its about evens on betfair) Pakistan are definitely out

Just had Alison Mitchell on the radio spelling out what would happen if Ireland pulled off the improbable and won.

Ireland would be all but through - and Pakistan would be on the next plane home

Bit of moisture in the air being reported - as the covers are being brought on the protect the strip.
This could work against us - it's not a cut and dried thing yet...

Ireland contributed more runs to the Pakistan innings than any individual Pakistani batsman. 29 extras versus a top score of 27 by Kamran Akmal.

Pretty much neck-and-neck as of now. All Ireland have to do is bat the 50, tick along at three per over and they're home. But I have an inkling that Pakistan's pace will be too much.

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

Think the top two in each group go into two more groups of four, with the top two again going to the knock out semis.

the answer could be a very long mail so will only explain this match. Basically because they are all out for 132. Ireland have to score 133. as it stands Ireland are 41 for 2. The 2 means that 2 players have been bowled out.

Nail on the head Sheridan. Pakistan appealing everything. Little Ginger should smash one back down their throats and shut them up. 44 for 2 of 14.3 overs. Just keep ticking along boys.

66/3 - half way there from 21.4 overs.

Pakistan were 66/5, which can only be a boost as well.

66-3, Porterfield chops Hafeez onto his own leg stump. Not necessarily a bad thing, depending on how Botha does. Although Ireland have plenty of overs to play with, 13 off 50 balls is a bit much (or little.) He was utterly becalmed and contributing next to nothing. If these two can put on 30-40 we should be home and hosed. Still in the balance.

Botha out for a duck, Ireland in huge trouble at 70/4. Awful, awful decision. Bat was nowhere near it. Probably cost Ireland the game.

Have to ask how Sami could have appealed for that, he must have known he didnt hit it.
