Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week
5,000 houses mean a population of roughly 15,000
Thats a good sized town

If Rule 42 applies to all GAA grounds then why are the GAA so eager to share Tallaght?

Ah so a GAA ground constitutes a ground owned by the GAA, while they can play GAA in any ground? Maybe that's it? I know they are now angry that Landsdowne won't be big enough to host GAA matches, so their stance on the whole issue is a tad confusing...
I actually think that figure is from the 2002 census but even going by the Fingal average pop growth since then of 22% (preliminary report from 06 census) - the only one that is higher than Meath btw, the population wouldn't be more than 12,000 now.
I'd like to see Chris Byrne's saved game file for Sim City.

How did the Rovers court session go?
And who is going to fund the rest of the stadium??
5000 is an enormous amount of houses - but the reality is, one of the main opponents of letting drogheda united go ahead with it has said on his website that in reality there will be 5000 houses built there in 2 years time - with or without drogheda united involvement!!
I reckon Meath cc have 2 options:
- have another disaster like laytown in 2 years time and have 5000 houses with f*** all facilities, amentities, etc - well done o nthat one lads!!
- or have 5000 houses built with a stadium, sports campus and alot of other things that are proposed!!( basically drogheda united reckon theyve all angles covered - with schools, new road, etc that the developer will buiild all in the proposal)
In fairness alot of opposing supporters are commenting on somethng they dont know the full facts!! Alot of people locallly would be more 'clued in' on the people involved! Drogheda borugh council shambles of a meeting this week tells alot![]()
Anyway the situation at the moment is that meath cc have unanimously proposed a review of the development plan - this then needs i think 3/4's of people to vote for the drogs proposal out of 20 odd councillors - a drogheda councillor who has knowsn the ins and outs of this deal over the lat 2 years reckons he can still see us commence building in 6 months time - fingers crossed
DAN CONNOR HATES CITY, HE HATES LANGERS
Cosmo, as you know I live in the area and as much as I'd like to see the drogs with a new stadium etc. I think 5,000 more houses in the area is a disaster waiting to happen. You see the car park in the train station in the morning? Its already full at twenty passed seven. Water supply is stretched to breaking point - all of east Meath is supplied by Drogheda. A new town - face it thats what we are talking about - in the area is not sustainable.
