Irish bands who never quite made it

I remember seeing Revelino a few times in UCD and thinking they were bloody good, yet they disapeared off the face of the earth. I hear they do weddings nowadays.
There must be loads of other Irish bands who suffered similar fates.

Problem with Revelino was they only had one top tune, "Happiness is mine". Maybe if that film, "I went down", did better than it did they could of made it.

I think the Stunning is the most obvious example of an Irish band that never quite made it.

This will take some people back and it'll make some other people realise why an 80s revival is NOT a good idea. It's a database of Irish punk / new wave / powerpop / etc bands from roughly 1975 - 90 (only ones who actually recorded material):

Nah that would have been my Harrington Jacket and retro trainers phase.

Oddly enough I listened to their second album during the week for the first time in about a year, highly recommended and has improved with age.
Saw them live a good few times, even ended up at the launch party for that second album

I'd say Therapy? have made it, although they've undone it since their prime.

The Frames and Aslan have clearly "made it."
I remember Blew/The Blew were tipped for great things.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

O'Bama - "Eerah yeah, I'd say we can alright!"

    G.O'Mahoney Trapattoni'll sort ém out!!
