I think you'll find it's just sections of the massive club that I'm calling liars here champ. Honestly though I'm not sure if Galway are cooking the books this year, but you did last year, you can deny it all you want but you know I'm right. Plus isn't a certain N.Leeson a major figure at your club? Forgive me for not having the utmost faith in his honesty

New stand accomodates 1500 when full. I would estimate that there was at least 1200 there. I was selling GUST Lotto tickets in the centre of the stand, there were absolutely no spare seats - granted, there was room at both ends of the stand.

It is difficult to estimate crowd in the old stand, as most people there are standing up. At most 500, at worst 300, a middle figure of 400 would be reasonable enough.

    Two stands 1600

There were definitely 150-200 adults standing along the three sides of the ground where standing is permitted, and with several hundred U16s running wild, the official attendance does not seem like an exaggeration.

Why would we purposely exaggerate attendances this season anyway ?

I pretty much agree with you up to this point. There were not "several hundred" U-16s around the ground.

I don't know why you would exaggerate your crowds, and I don't really care why. I'm just queryin the figure is all. Conor H got the figure by saying the stand was packed (which it wasn't) and holds 1700 (which it doesn't). You've gotten the figure by adding on several hundred U-16s, whom I must have missed.

Terrible attendance at Dundalk vs. Kildare - about 600 I'd say.

I cant believe that you are still questioning our official figures did you count the people standing around the pitch/ at the chipper/ in the toilet. All our figures are checked and sent off by fax to the FAI before full time and announced before the end of the game what is the process at UCD seeing as you are telling us how to do our job.

All season tickets are ticked off a list at evey game and all kids for free are also ticked off what ffin more do you want a sworn statement before a peace commissioner get a life.

    Why bother lads?

It's the same two trolls that bring up the attendance chesnut time after time and seem to have some bizarre fixation with GUFC. The only place where this "theory" exists is in the minds of these two ringpieces and nowhere else.

I couldn't make the game on Friday but I've been at more or less every home game since the new stand was opened and more or less every game it's either been full or not far off full (not sure what it was like last Friday but it may have been less as UCD is just about the most unattractive fixture in the division). Given that you usually have a few hundred scattered around the perimeter of the ground and another few hundred in the old stand (between the hardcore who stand at the back of the old stand in rows 4 or 5 deep and the away fans). Not to mention that Terryland is usually infested with a small army of kids every match night. I certainly have no reason to doubt the official attendances. They look about right to me in as much as you can guesstimate using your eyes and frankly trying to guesstimate large crowds using your eyes is a mug's game. You can quite easily be a few hundred out.

So in short accusations of GUFC making up attendance figures out of thin air is a complete load of bobbins which is not suprising given the unhealthy obsession with all things GUFC that the two accusers seem to have.

Stu - you should send Galway a trophy for 'best estimated attendances' award for 2007

About 800 in Kilkenny imo, Stand at the side of pitch was full and stand behind the nets was 2/3 full.
Impressive stand behind the nets btw, it must hold 1000+ and looks the part. The stand at the side prob holds around 200.

Bray vs. Sligo was about 1500. Covered Stand was almost full and it holds over 900 and a good crowd behind the goal.

I propose the only way to counter any suspicion that clubs may be exaggerating attendances is to introduce VAT onto gate receipts...

A bit like City's had to put up with for decades !

I'd imagine the best actual attendance award would go to the club with the best actual attendance

And the photos Conor? What about when you went searching the internet for photos of Limerick fans so you could try and find out who I was
Just on this, they were way off about everyone

Anyway back OT, I'd say between 70 and 100 at Monaghan United v Limerick37

    Didn't bother doing a headcount...........

And that sort of honesty is why you and your two bit club didn't get promoted last year!!!
