I'd rather you didn't speak for us. Myself, I see a conversation that pretty much goes:

Pineapple stu: Your club is doing this wrong.
    Fans of Club: Nuh-uh!
PS: No, look, I have figures. Well, estimates. Here, I have a powerpoint presentation which should clear it all up.
Fans: Witch! (Err, we mean 'Obsessed!')

Some time later, Pineapple stu emails me a newspaper article about the club going bankrupt or something.

Now, here's my theory. Pineapple stu is a witch, and anyone who calls him names risks having their club send to the first division like Shelbourne.

Its very easy to be 50% out with crowd estimates.

I thought there were 2 UCD supporters at the game last Friday, it turns out
    that there were 3.

    The most stupid argument ever!
    Pineapple stu: get over it
GUFC fans: don't reply and he'll get over it!

Was thinking of sending them an award for Most Members of the Invisible Man's Family at a Game, actually. Credit where it's due; the league needs innovative promotions like that.

Got PMed a couple of Bohs' attendances - 949 v UCD: 949, 1430 v Longford and 1331 v Galway (think it was only a guesstimate in before? Exactly 1800 is what I had.

Going on all that, here's the first final update for the season. (2) is a game in the second series of matches. Figures in brackets are averages in previous seasons.

    PREMIER DIVISION
    Bohs - 1,924 (2006 - 1,463; 2005 - 1,976; 2004 - 2,340)
    Bray - 1,200 (1,027; 1,550; 818 FD)
    Cork - 2,990 (2,941; 3,644; 4,033) (missing St Pat's 2)
    Derry - 2,614 (3,229; 2,698; 1,672) (missing Bohs 2, Longford and Waterford)
    Drogheda - 1,919 (1,751; 1,682; 1,554) (missing Bray 2 and Sligo 2)
    Galway - 2,199 (1,148 FD; 566 FD; 571 FD)
    Longford - 910 (681; 1,004; 1,131) (missing Bray 2 and Waterford 2)
    Pat's - 1,892 (1,342; 1,599; 1,882) (missing Drogheda 2)
    Rovers - 1,819 (1,089 FD; 1,539; 1,349) (missing Sligo 2 and Waterford 2)
    Sligo - 1,513 (1,806; 1,794 FD; 781 FD) (missing Cork 2, Pat's 2 and Waterford 2)
    UCD - 663 (546; 653; 306 FD)
    Waterford - 1,181 (915; 1,513; 1,753)

    FIRST DIVISION
    Athlone - 670 (421; 316; 291)
    Cobh - 674 (368; 403; 240) (missing Wexford 2)
    Dundalk - 1,406 (1,078; 474; 591)
    Harps - 1,164 (428; 1,347 PD; 1,106)
    Kildare - 243 (265; 186; 298)
    Kilkenny - 186 (122; 185; 110) (missing Kildare 2, Monaghan (both) and Wexford 2)
    Limerick - 678 (364; 669; 188) (missing Monaghan 2)
    Monaghan - 292 (204; 183; 182) (missing Cobh 2, Kildare 2, Kilkenny 2, Shels 2 and Wexford 2)
    Shels - 888 (1,690 PD; 1,949 PD; 2,158 PD)
    Wexford - 819 (n/a) (missing Dundalk 2)

    Premier Division average - 1,712 (1,535; 1,759; 1,853)
    First Division average - 726 (570; 520; 512)

    Overall average - 1,244 (1,070; 1,195; 1,218)

FD is an average crowd in the First Division; PD is an average crowd in the Premier Division. I've only put that in where the attendances was when the club was in a different one to their current division.

I'm going to see what comes up here in the next couple of days, then put a few posts on the various club forums to fill in the gaps. Have figures from 94% of Premier Division games and 93% of First Division games.

Interesting to note that, despite the best efforts of the various CPOs, this season's overall average is a mere 49 more than 2005, if you take it that a large reason for last year's drop was the World Cup halving attendances for three rounds. And in 2005, we had Dublin City (average crowd 175), where now we have Wexford (average 819).

City v Bohs was reported in the media as 5000 but I can't see how those numbers add up. 4000 a better estimate.

It was mentioned in the programme (matchday magazine) in same game that attendances up i think 18% (need to double check) this season before the last league game. I don't know if that league games or all games, an average or a total figure. Make of it what you will...

Pineapple - thanks again for taking the time to co-ordinate all of this during the season, I really enjoyed reading this section of the site.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

You'll have to estimate the crowd in the bar to within 5% though to win the pint!
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

Or I could get someone from Galway to estimate it for him and I would definitely keep my pint

According to Adrian Desmond , Club Promotion Officer, in the City v Bohs programme City's league attendances for the season were up 21.5%, not including that game obviously.

I know the averages have been calculated, but just as a sideline Harps had around 3,000 against Dundalk in the play off semi final on Friday night.

Well looks like this convuluted Play off system is going to be good for something anyway.
