Taken from Official Site:-
Work on the new stand at Terryland Park will commence next Monday (March 12th) and will be completed on July 23rd, in time for the sell-out clash between Galway United and Roy Keane's Sunderland on August 1st.
The 1,500 seater stand will increase Terryland Park's seated capacity to 2,900 and overall capacity at the ground to over 5,000.
The new stand will include a shop unit, turnstiles, medical examination/first aid room, toilets, showers, dressing rooms, match
delegates room, and match officials' dressing room.
There will also be a new media and reception room, canteen, and facilities for press conferences and a TV studio.
A camera platform will be added to the existing stand and the floodlights are to be relocated.
The upgrading of the current floodlights is now complete.

Yes you can have my autograph
so its starts for real in the morning it would seem, cool.
At long last we have started (8am to be precise) on the town side Development and with the people in charge you can be sure it will be completed on time.
That is good news. Great to see work taking place.
gufct, if I was to pop up once in a while just to take a quick photo for update reasons would anybody have a problem with it? I would make sure not to enter the construction site itself for health and safety reasons.
i dont think that would cause a problem just check it with Noel or Daniel when your up there.
Terry have you had a chance to take any pics of the development of the new stand yet?

They are clearing and digging at the moment so nothing really to see. Id say after the Drogheda Game the real work will start and Parking will be severly restricted.
no time, as I was in sligo yeterday, donegal today and Im in mayo tomorrow, so will have to wait at least till after the bank holiday weekend
is it going straight across from where we were last week?
yeah. when finished there will be a stand running down each touchline. with no change to the terracing behind both goals AFAIK.
the new stand - along with being top notch in design - will also have no poxy poles blocking the view and will negate some of the wind/coldness in the ground!!
i believe, yes??which wouldnt be a bad thing.except ours will have a gym, dressing rooms and admin rooms too underneath.
as for negating the cold-its true it will negate alot of it as the wind and rain sweep in from that side it seems, but it never rains in galway anyway so it doesnt matter.
When the steel and stuff comes at least one third of the carpark will be off limits.......but wont it be worth it in the lng run.
the car park there is redundant at the best of times - unless your down real early - so not a great loss
wont it be a great excuse for a bit of exercise down the dyke road!

Unless people with cars are in before 7 there are no guarantees on a parking space. The facilities crew have a tough enough job to do getting people in and out safely. Last nights result should keep the crowd coming back next Friday for the Drogs.
Plus, isnt next friday good friday? that usually gets us the crowd too.
The home game versus St Pats on April 6th falls on Good Friday.
