hoping someone can help me out here. I pulled the washing machine out to get in and clean out behind it, but as it was being pushed back in I noticed water dripping from the Blue hose. I think it could be the washer as the water appears to be sliding down the hose and then dropping to the floor. I haven't a clue how to change the washer or hose? Is it difficult, can I buy it from somewhere? do i even need to change the washer? can it be sealed? if anyone can help i would be very grateful!![]()

You clean behind the washing machine ?
There should be isolation valves on the copper pipe isolate first.
If it is leaking between the hose and the pipe try a bit of PTFE tape around the threads on the copper pipe and reconnect/retighten.
Worst case sceanario you should only need new flexible hoses
lionel, can you explain a little more, to a thick like myself. is the washer the fat cream type coloured thing or is it the silver thing that connects that cream coloured yoke to the blue - cold - ( plastic ) pipe?

All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
Sorry but that doesnt make much sense to me? the pipe doesnt seem copper for a start.....There should be isolation valves on the copper pipe isolate first.

I just bought the flat, and the last people in there left it like a tip, so I got a cleaner in*.....I actually think she might have broken it.
*might I add a professional cleaner ( I am not that lazy! ), cos the place was rightly fcuked, carpets and all....

ya but that looks fine like, and I tried to either loosen it or tighten it and i couldnt.....maybe lionels idea might work. That'd be the silver thing.

Hmmm ...lets do a quick situation analysis again.
You think the water is coming out from the hose at the point where the hose connects to the washing machine itself yes?I think it could be the washer as the water appears to be sliding down the hose and then dropping to the floor
If so -see if there's a black rubber washer on either the end of the hose itself or on the washing machines connection. If so try popping it out and putting it back in the other way around. It's a trick more commonly used on taps but it might work out.

newryrep, the red and blue hoses are connected to a splitter that connects to 1 pipe ( cheap way of doing it i beleive? and more expensive having the washing machine to heat the water), i didnt notice a valve below this but i will look this evening and try to switch it off.
Their is no black rubber washer, there is a blue hose with a silver coloured thing about 2.5 cm long, that connects to the "cream coloured thingie" that is directly connected to the washing machine.

IN this pic, the black thing is cream coloured on the back of the washing machine in my place, the copper coloured thing ( washer? ) that connects into the black thing here is silver coloured on mine, should i be unscrewing the black part from the washing machine or which part? Either way the leak appears round the silver coloured thing.

I suggest you try here:-

Only £2:12 (untill you add the VAT and P&P) and its £22.44![]()
Alternatively if the hoses are interchangeable you could swop the red and blue hoses around and then the leak would (hopefully) be on a low pressure
(not mains pressure supply) and fixable with some form of tape or glue or whatever. (I am sure you can get some sort of plumbing repair kit for a few quid). Or you could do what I do and not bother washing your clothes at all
You could also try your local tip where people dump their rubbish, or scrap yard as all new machines come with their own hoses so I am sure a lot of good old ones are simply discarded.
I put a load on last nite and when went to take it out the water game out the door. Closed it and did a drain & spin but when went back the water is still there.![]()
Any suggestions???
you overloaded the wash, and there is now a block in the pipe that removes the scheisser, and you could possibly have broken the tumbler itself! which required us getting a new washing machine!
cheers guys for all the help, a mate here gave me a hose and some ideas. i sorted it out in the end!!! i thought i would break it but i didnt, the black washer sits inside the plug yoke!!! hooray for me!
