Captain for New Season

Just been announced that Wes is the captain for the new season -

Whats the general consensus on Wes in Galway?

and any good for keeping the ball away from the goal?

I felt that his timing was a little off last year with some of his challenges - Having said that I am not sure if we was fully fit - seems to use all parts of his body to keep the ball out!
Full time training should definatley help

agree with sumac - very awkward at times

tended to use his bulk to defend when he got the timing with his feet all wrong

mis hits a lot of passes

great for the air obviously - but would want to come on on last year - he got away with murder and luckily galway werent punished

I think maybe being the captain will give him that extra bit of belief in himself and improve his performance on the pitch

From what i saw of him on Saturday I certainly don't think it's improved his passing anyway.

He's great attacking high balls and winning physical battles, but he's very dodgy on the turn and I think Reggie will be doing a lot of covering for his Captain this year.
