    how is michael owen getting that much from a club who hasnt won a cup in years!.... also schevchenko must be laughing himself to sleep every night!

    The biggest waste of money on that is paying Lucas Neill £70k p/w. Probably the best example you can get of the Premiership paying silly money and a club in relegation trouble panicking.

    He's a good defender but he's not exactly world class. I nearly p!ssed myself laughing when he said he turned down Liverpool for West Ham because West Ham treeted him better while he was there. Nothing to do with them doubling what Liverpool had on offer then eh?

    50,000 plus at every home game would have a lot to do with it

    As for Shevchenko he's been playing well for anyone who has eyes to see. Plus it's hardly like he's not used to big money now is it

    Paying out that much money for journeymen like Neill and Upson is pretty much symptomatic of everything that's wrong with football
