I'm excluding American shows on the grounds that even the funny ones are too smug/sentimental to be enjoyable.

2: The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin
1: The Office

I never really watched Spaced enough to consider it for inclusion. Red Dwarf was quite funny but tarred by association with geeks.

i heard that the american religious nuts wouldnt stand for it, same for australia

i remember in Korea, the german guy that owned THAT bar (cant remerber name) had fr ted nights that were hugely successful

As far as I know, it was never shown on mainstream TV in the US, however, BBC America has a series on now and again. As for the humour translating, yes it does, amongst my American friends anyway. Having said that, I'm no Father Ted, but I'm a pretty cool dude though.
