Both look like they could be perm. deals ? I'd be dissapointed if Bray let 2 young talents like these go....
Would they now be loan deals?

Wouldn't it be tragic if Shels went over their permitted amount of loans for the season because there's nobody left at the club who understands the rulebook!!!

Don't worry charlie, We are aware we are only permitted a maximum of FOUR players on loan at any one time.

Hope this clears thing up for you and you don't have to worry about shels having more players than is permitted

It's in today's Irish Times that he has signed as well as Mark O'Brien, and Keely is hoping to get Conor Powell as well

Edit: and it says they signed Conor Rafferty from Bohs as well

All this seems to suggest that Shels aren't going to fold. Great Stuff!

Is Alan Moore still with them then? I never saw anything saying he'd left and he's still on their website.

I think they may actually have a decent side this year.

I would be amazed at the Derry board letting their fringe players be "educated " under Keely. After witnessing his attempted one man demolition of Derry City, I cant figure out for the life of me how his archaic tactics will serve to benefit any youngster trying to develop his footballing skills.

If you're judging him on that one season you're forgetting the trophies he's won with Rovers, Dundalk, Shels etc etc

Not to mention he was a top class defender himself. Get over your pettiness and realise that this could help some of your players

    BTW I despise Keely

I also despise Keely as did a lot of Shels fans, The main reason was the way Keely gets his team to play football (Or the lack off), i was glad to see the back of him after the Boh's game in Dalymount a few years ago, But i believe he is the Best manager we could have got in at this time, and is probably the one man who could get us out of the first division in the next two seasons.

Anyway, Great quote from him in the Sun today, in relation to Roddy saying he's past it, Dermot said ' Its been a while since Roddy worked, But if he wants to drop in his CV to Tolka then i'm sure i can find him plenty of work plastering'

Not pettiness at all. I have actually met the man after the debacle and find him a decent enough bloke. i have a lot to thank him for - watching his tactics in full swing led me to have a creak in my neck for 6 months and I I learned so much about the night sky under his stewardship. If we wanted to loan players out we can send them to Higgsy and McCann at Harps anyhow for valuable experience.

On its clear that new administration is in place, I'd be happy to help Shels in their time of need.

Im sure there has to be a restriction on how many loans a club can have aswell. They cant loan an entire team surely. However because its shels ud never know a dispensation cud be on the cards.

Didn't Kilkenny loan loads of players when Scully was managing them? What's the limit?

As stated before in this thread, you can have 4 players on loan at any one time, No more.

It's up to the board to decide the budget and as long as the manager stays within that, any financial problems are then the board's fault. It's very easy to blame Keely but if Shels are offering him a 9k weekly budget, as a manager, he is hardly to going to say he doesn't need all that money is he?
Whoever told me that? I was there mate!
He signed a squad in our second year that was destined for promotion. We would have gotten promoted if he had of stayed. Then he jumped ship leaving us with a mammoth wage bill and a managers seat to fill. We appointed Hannigan (Boards mistake) and things went downhill from there.

As far as I am concerned one does not sign a Premier squad for a small club and then run off where more money is at the first opportunity. He let the club down big time. He is the sort that convinces boards he has what it takes to deliver if they make the resources available (just look at Dublin City). We as a club fell for it.

He is undoubtadly a cheque book manager.

Thankfully we are now pretty much debt free and have all the tax paid up. A fresh start for us from this season forth. Lets hope we don't appoint a journey man like him ever again - a lesson learnt.

    Now back to Shels.....

I personally find it annoying they are having players thrown at them by other clubs. Also I find it annoying that their wage bill will be so large considering they will still have many outstanding debts and be living off Ossie Kilkenny's dripfeeding. It's like they have learnt nothing.

That's just my view on it.

They have got James Hussey as well.

Brohpy and Harte are good signings for the First Division. McEneff is unproven and has been out injured for the past year or so. He has metal plates in his foot.

He had Dave O'Connor & Sheppard from Pats & Gutherie from Cork City. I think that was it.

Ex-Bray player Carian Ryan has supposedly signed as well.
