AFAIK, only our first 5 or so home games will be Sunday. Not the whole season. Besides, League cup games are on Tuesday/Wednesday so how will that interfere?

Good point. Feed the team more carrots then. Good for night vision.

nah, the 3-2 vs cobh was on a wed afternoon - i remember bunking off school for it!

have to agree that the evening games have a much better atmosphere.

    I think I accidentally kicked off this whole debate . . .
My point wasn't about Sundays - it was about afternoon kickoffs. Floodlit games are great, but it's not the floodlights that make the atmosphere, it's the fans.
"Even if the wind stops to blow
Even if the sea ceases to flow
Even if the sun ceases to rise
The name of Sligo Rovers will shine and shine forever like the morning star glittering in the sky."

yes, afternoon kick offs always seem to have a poorer atmosphere in the showgrounds for some reason. maybe the evening games give people a chance to get a few drinks in before the game & get their singing voice?

I think a big part of is that under lights all the focus is on the pitch and the ground feels more enclosed. Also I guess the anticipation lelvels get longer to build up for night games.
