Just got a text from what is normally a very reliable source saying they've been relegated and will lodge an appeal...
is the meeting still going?

Seriously the meeting was due to start 4 hours ago...there is no excuse for the lack of an announcement. None whatsoever, it's a farce.
I heard they were relegated also.
The First Instance Licensing Committee of the FAI met this evening to examine licensing issues concerning Shelbourne FC.
Following its meeting on February 4th, the Independent Committee had sought information from Shelbourne and following extensions to that date at the request of the club, the Committee met again this evening to consider the status of their licence.
The Committee decided to withdraw the club’s Premier division licence and to award Shelbourne a first division licence, with conditions.
In line with the Club Licensing process, Shelbourne FC will be advised of the specifics regarding the decision tomorrow and the club has 5 days in which to appeal the decision. No further detail will be made public pending an appeal.

I really never know who to believe on the net. Have loads of work to do, but want to find out what's going on before I get back to it. I'm going to send a complaint in to the FAI about this!
Higgo, we've been given a first division licience, this is subject to appeal and lets face, thats probably what we face now, at least we've got football to look forward to!!!
Sitting pretty!!!
I know for Shels fans this is gut wrenching but we thought the same way last year. However we've got our club running unbelievably well now, basically because the season in the 1st allowed us to regroup. It's better to play in the 1st than have no club at all. If you do things properly now you should come back stronger, and wiser
False hope is worse than no hope. Ask Sligo.
I think we should give credit to the FAI for this. Yes they have ****ed up in the past when it came to making decisions but they have made the right one tonight. Now hopefully they will continue on from here and make more right decisions
I hope the courts have room for a few cases before the season starts...
hope the shels fans enjoy the game "discover ireland"

So who will go up now? that is if they do not appeal or an appeal is rejected Waterford or Dundalk?
Everyone needs something to believe in, I believe I'll have another beer.
Its waterford to go up if your going by the IAG. I really dont want to go up at this stage as we have signed players to try and win the first division and all preparations have been made for that. I think its too late for us to go up now as we could struggle in the premier. WE've spent enough time in the graveyard another year wont kill us.
Just to get things right before the debate gets out of hand.
Waterford came 13th on the IAG's table and Dundalk 14th. If and when the Shelbourne's appeal fails then if the FAI decide to invite a team then I reckon its Waterford first but who knows.
Without doubt Dundalk have been more hard done by in this process than any other club. Galway got the biggest hand out. The fans and management committee of Waterford Utd. accepted our 1st division spot without whinging or whining especially when you consider last years miserable points tally. However we were willing to accept our fate and hopefully bounce back ala Rovers but it seems Olly folly is going to benefit.
