helps us beat ye lot, the english left years ago (by the way)( try a new joke please, that fresh air should help "should") but al least we dont be tearin each other apart like other parts fo the country

but you must let a team defend there title, if derry our drogs did win it next year you couldnt say there worthy, because they never were able to beat the champions, but i do think a points deduction should be given as some form of punishment, and sanctions

was talking to a member of the waterford united mc and he said they are not to bothered by all this, they seem to be just going with the flow on this,
he informed me that gareth cronan has a squad of 24 players already and looking very sharp for the new season in the 1st division which he feels they can win no problem.

if shels are allowed play in the premier division this season it will be most likely that they will be relagated at the end of the season and waterford united look very strong to go straight back up (with a trophy and €50,000 better off(prize money)

so one way or another shels are f*!@ed

Mick Neville was at the Cherry Orchard V Skerries game yesterday, no doubt casting the eye over the likes of Philly Shephard, McNevin, Prenderville to name a few.

    Thanks.
    For.
    That.

By refuting speculation you do realise you are yourself creating additional speculation?

Dont be so sure of Waterford getting promotion. The 1st division is very unpredictable.

I think Finn Harps have as strong a team as they ever had and are going to go very very close this season. 5 years ago this Finn Harps squad would have been in top half of premier table. How things have changed.

waterford went to bray and pats over the last few weeks for pre season and brought a squad of 30 players to both matchs,
already half the under 21 team are bullin to get into the seinor squad,
this can only be good for the blues,
we might even loan out a few players to shels if there stuck

I think waterford will finish forth. I think Dundalk, harps and athlone all have better squads.

Worse than a cop out its a disgrace. If, say, Shels get denied the licence. Surely they'll get a week to appeal, then it won't be heard until the next available monday, then it'll be another coupld of days before a final decision is made. The league starts in less than a month

Disgrace if Shels get no punishment

There are only 2 possible scenarios:

    - Shels submitted correct accounts. FAi don't have case to answer. Shels have to case to answer. Move on.
    - Shels submitted false accounts. The FAI (Licencing Committee) did not notice this so someone needs to take responsibility. Shels need to sanctioned. Independent Auditor needs to answer questions.

Can anyone remind who is on the licencing board? What is its Remit?

You're probably right Pete- but there are other questions, especially regarding the payment of players. It seems like a bit of a joke that you only have to be up to date once a year for licensing, the rest of the time you can do what you want.

One comment Pete. If Shels met the Licensing standards at Nov 2006 then it means the Licensing standards are a joke, given what we now know about Shels financial health.

There is no get out for the FAI here. Either way they are culpable.

Yes. Its Shels met the standard they cannot be punished therefore its the FAIs fault. The eL was never responsible for licencing. I suppose this compounded by Fran Gavins response on RTE that they implemented licencing.

Clearly the FAI thought that they did well to create a licencing process & have never looked at whether the implementation of that system was correct. Its time to stop fudging & in true FAi style point the finger.

only summising but i think first instance committee tonight and there dicision will go before fai board tomorrow for ratification.and at some stage shels will have to be informed before we all learn the outcome.so all in all we should know about ten minutes before kickoff who we will be playing.
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now
