I don't, the last line is a disgrace.
As Irishmen we dilute our sense of nation by depending on the English to bring us our balls

That's true, but I'll overlook it just this once.

The current version is even funnier - they've locked the article from editing by new members and reverted, but someone else has changed the first line to "The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) are destroying the heritage of association football (soccer) in the Republic of Ireland. It should not be confused with the Irish Football Association (IFA), which is the organising body for the sport in Northern Ireland."

    Now it says,
"The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) is the organising body for the sport of association football (soccer) in the Republic of Ireland. It should not be confused with the Irish Football Association (IFA), which is the organising body for the sport in Northern Ireland. They are also a bunch of ****s who hired a ginger **** to do a job he cant do."

In fairness, the throwaway nature of the last line made me laugh out loud. Then again I usually find gratuitous sectarianism funny anyway.

    FAI on Wikipedia

FAI on Wikipedia .... its hard to argue with it !!
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

    Yep. Looks right to me.

But no doubt all FAI staff members will spend all day tomorrow trying to..... ehhhh..... "correct" certain matters.

Because as Delaney will tell you - image is everything, facts are irrelevant.

The drinking buddy comment on the Staunton link is also true? If so that's a total disgrace.http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...ldid=106416674

BTW let this be a lesson to students writing up their theses - dont use wikipedia as a reference!!

    Wikipedia

They were level at 1-1 with the Republic of Ireland after 94 minutes when Stephen Ireland scored within 8 seconds of the final whistle. The goal scored by San Marino was their first competitive goal since 1998.

San Marino were 8 seconds away from a famous 1-1 draw and embarrassing the Republic of Ireland on the 8th of February 2007, only for Stephen Ireland to scramble in a late late winner for the Republic. Many blame this on the inadequacy of the Republic's manager Steve Staunton to manage a football team.

Even wikipedia have updated their san marino section on the game wednesday. I thought the bit in bold was very funny!!

Wikipedia is made up of posters throughout the world. Is it not an Official source. You can register and post what you want on any topic. It doesn't have any Official merit. There is another Wikipedia entry about the FAI some place using foul language about them and accusing the Northern Ireland FA of being bigots and Rangers supporters.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
