Our ground situation has no bearing on the make up of the fixture list.

Absolutely does. Yourself and Shels have to be scheduled at home on alternative weekends. (And the same applied to Pats/Rovers in Richmond or Bohs/Rovers in Dalymount)

My money is on Alan Matthews and half the Longford squad lining out for Shels in the 2007 Premier division

I heard Roddy Collins pronouncing himself the next Shels manager at the schoolboy match last weekend.

I think the extra hype of these games plus the lack of other attractions could make this worth a try at least.
    Good idea GH.

The Irish League also cooks the fixtures to make all the Boxing Day games local derbies, which adds a big element to them as well.

Would be great if the FAI did likewise. Unlikely that the idea would even cross their mind however...

Word on the streets and in the pubs of Ringsend is that the plasterer has a squad already to go, contingent on Ollie being out of the picture.

How good would that be? Shels deducted a shedload of points, Roddy managing a squad of has-beens, never-weres and never-will-bes. Nailed-on relegation, Roddy has form with this kind of situation.

RTE are reporting a decision on Shelbourne's future as imminent.

What I really liked about the story was a graphic beside it advertising their travel section - it looks very like a New York sky line - post 9/11. Maybe someone in Montrose is into subliminal messages??

Roma and Lazio share the same ground, and can only play at home every second week. It still doesn't affect the Italian fixture list every season, so why here??
