Pats are playing Sunderland as well, this Wednesday.

Anyone bleating about Sunderland just using this as an exercise in poaching either Pats' or Rovers' best players should stop and consider this: the English transfer window shut on 31st January. Didn't think of that, no?

If they want to cast an eye over potential talent, they'd wait until everyone's fully match fit and playing competitive football. It's called scouting.

So what Shams players will be going
? My money is on the young Midfielder cant remember the name, i think he got a man of the match award against Bohs or Pats in the cup. Shams really should have thought before accepting this invitation as it is a major step in quality from the first to the Premier and you need to hang on to your best players when you come up, pitty real pitty if they go straight back down but you have been warned.

    Regards,

    Concerned !
It all depends on Shams ambition to stay up, if they have any. Defintely losing two or three of their top players would be a huge kick in the teeth for them. Maybe with the money they get for those players they would looking at going back down to the first and consolidating themselves and then trying to come up when they are ready.

Shams players can sign pre-contracts outside of the transfer window cant they.

If we have any ambition to stay up?! Are you joking? We're a premier club, three of our best players and Pat Scully only recently signed contracts till 2010... We're not losing and havn't lost any players we want to stay. We're aiming for a high mid-table position!
    Consolidating ourselves?!

He has. Did you not read the article? He has also in the past tried to help out the club. Has the sunderland manager invested in your club? After all he loves cork apparently.

Dont know who shams are but Rovers are going for a training camp for 5 days. They have great training facilities and Rovers will never be a feeder club for anyone.

This awful... first Keane makes up with Mother Theresa, then shakes hands with that dingbat McCarthy... bloody hell I was thinking I've no one left to aim my irrational vitriol at... then I look at the RTE guide and see that Scannal tonight is doing a documnentary about the 1-0 win over England in 1995 and the riot that ensued... nice timely reminder of how then as now the FAI do nothing but make fools of themselves on the international stage... hope Delaney and his gimp Stan enjoy it !!

ps...still hate McCarthy and of course Stan showed in 2002 how slimy he was as he supported him then

No, you're a million miles away with all your suppositions. The link is Rovers fan Niall Quinn plus a bloke that Rovers have done business with. Nothing to do with players at all.

See my post above - this has nothing to do with players. It's purely a way for Quinn to do something positive for Rovers. Scully and a few directors have been over already to see their set-up, meet the coaching staff, commercial operation etc.

You can stop worrying about us, it'll be a cold day in hell before anyone pulls the wool over our eyes again.

Poor attempt at a wind up, but funny though

it's more likely to be 5-1.

Pats and Rovers entire squads on trial at sunderland, fans create an "affinity" for Sundireland and go over again for Sunderland games..........

Or it could be what Rovers fans think and umm Quinn likes them.

I'd say this is more accurate tbh. Out of the goodness of his heart Quinn is bring them over ..... yeah right. Its not like Shams haven't been dupped before though it is now

Lads how many Rovers players do you think Sunderland would be poaching? After all this is a team that are well on course for the Premiership this season. I don't want to start the whole EL Premier is better than the Championship 'discussion' again but seriously, you'd swear Keane had realised that last years First Division championship winning squad are just the ticket to keep Sunderland in the Premier next year the way some people are going on

All this is, is glorified trials, sad that Shams have become Star struck by a team playing in the 2nd tier of the english league system. By the way somebody mentioned that Quinn was a fan as he tried before to help the club how does a Millionaire try to help a club in trouble ? Either he does or he does not simple as wake up lads you are being taken for a wide again by Mr nice guy there is no such thing as a free lunch as the old adage goes.
Nail on the head, Mr Quinn, the nice guy .... came back to Ireland to train young kids ..... in GAA !! Some Shams fan alright, hope you dont have too many more like them though.

In fact, by calling him a 'fan' you are doing a huge injustice to the real 'fans' that resurrected the club from near extinction.

    Yawn.....

Rovers go about pre-season preparation in a highly professional manner - and all you can do is moan, moan, moan.....

Okay - we'll go back to the old ways. Fart around for the off-season, and then cobble together a team of has-beens and nobodies a week before the season starts. Is that better???

Oh - and I note that Bohs had a recent trip to Barcelona. That's them rightly fecked so. Those Catalan blackguards have probably pilfered half their squad.

As mentioned in the article, he is a member, so yeah, he is a fairly useful Rovers fan alright.

And I'd find it hard to believe that any Rovers member in particular does not deserve the term 'fan', Mr. Face.
