Lads would i be right on saying, going on ur plans for your new stadium that the roof does not cover all the seated areas of that stand?
You would be right gael. However the front of the stand is east facing, so the amount of rain that you would get from there would be pretty minimal. Most of it will come in at a slant from the back.

Thank u afconline, i wasnt slangging your stand or anything in fact i think it will be one of the better ones in the country. So many stands have been built in the last few years which belong in the lesser leagues of england in the 1970's. Its like the GAA spending millions on bringing their stadiums from the 20's into the early 80's (see limericks gaelic grounds, paric ui coimh, galway etc) and seeing it as progression. Any stand built with good eleveation (for viewing comfort) no visual obstructions such as floodlights or upright beams (jackman park has 20floodlight poles at time of typing) and coverd seating (st annes end turners X anyone?) get those few things right and you've got a good stand. I can mame bad ones and why they are bad if anyone has an opinion on one or all. But well done athlone

Just had a look at the pics on Athlones website. Very impressive indeed and fair play to the club and all involved.
