ah i dont know about that.in fairness fahy had all the early pressure and fell behind well against the general run of play.celtic took their chances when they fell to them early in the game where as fahy failed to do so.we deservededly drew level before half time, one of the goals coming from the spot after yet another synical challenge on our centre forward-every time he got a head of steam up he was hauled down with no yellow card being produced for any of them.no mention of the goal that never was either.thought it was a bit of a cop out by the ref awarding a corner kick when the ball was at least two yards inside the line.but in fairness i do think that overall a draw a fair result as our keeper did pull off a few good saves as did celtics though!!so couldnt agree that it was two points dropped by celtic on the day going by the performance on the pitch by both sides.

Can anyone tell me why the Premier is so close this year anyone in the league can still win promotion and its almost halfway through. It seems anyone can beat anyone on any given day.

yes i agree the league is still very tight which is good, no one running away with it makes for a good second half to the season. heard from the Celtic u21 camp that they have sign gerry gaughan from S&F, any truth in this?? if this is the case S&F are under even more pressure considering they have an injury list as long as my arm, john jordan and alan mcdonnell are still out injured and you can tell with there results lately.
if ballinrobe can pull off a win saturday have have to be favourite to go up they could openin up a very good lead dependin on other results.
It's true that any side can beat another in this division this year. I felt Ballinrobe were lucky to get a point against us last weekend, although I'm sure Juan ablo et al may disagree. We have Westport B tomorrow night and it's always one we are up for. I think they must be favourites though, after hammering S+F last weekend. We have played well in the last two games after a dreadful start and I'm confident we will stay up at least, despite propping up the table at this stage. Would be nice to see more of an interest here too though!
you're very welcome to the forum allornothing!would you be leaning towards any particular team in the division?yeah its true that any team can beat anyone else on a given day which makes for a very tight division.its been like that though for the last couple of years although one team would usually stand out.wasnt at the fahy balinrobe game last weekend but i did hear that fahy owned the ball for almost the entire second half but couldnt create many chances-maybe juan pablo could confirm this to me?hope fahy's words arent going to be famous last words!!
hopefully we can pull out of trouble and tomorrow nights game against westport is going to be a massive one for us and indeed for them-could be an interseting one!

Regarding the fahy game last week, thought fahy were the better team overall, we had a good opening 30 mins but slacked off after we got the second goal, fair play to fahy for fighting back, could be a turnaround in there season, saying all that, we are still unbeaten this season, swinford AWAY tonight so 3 points would be a great result, we beat them last season 5-2 in a relegation decider so i think they will be up for it,mind you, they had a match thursday evening so tired legs may or may not be a factor.
Swinford 1 - 2 Ballinrobe Town
Swinford went a goal up with 20 mins to play and robe fought back to take 3 points, good performance from robe.
Other Results:
Bangor 4 - S& F 0
Fahy 2 - Westport 'B' 0
Achill 3 - celtic 'b' 2
manulla 3 - ballyglass 1
Was at the Swinford, Robe game and a draw would have been a fair result.
Swinford were unlucky with both goals two stupid mistakes 5 yards out from goal.
"Give it to me raw i'll take it home and cook it myself"
Great results for Bangor and Fahy. S & F seem to be in real trouble whats happening there it cant be just because of injuries?? Swinford have a good young footballing side but they have had some really bad results i thought they would be pushing for promotion.
Great result for Fahy against Westport B on Saturday. We are beginning to get a bit of form and have some of our missing players back in action. Great performance from David Feehan in goal to stop Westport, who were unlucky not to score and even more unlucky not to get a penalty in the second half. They have some top players and should do well this year. Chris Ryder looks like he will be swapping B for A sooner rather than later and Ronan O Malley is a good addition on the wing. As for us, I think if we can maintain a decent squad and avoid the injury spree we have been on all year we should easily climb up the table. To be honest though, without meaning to offend anyone, I don't think any team in our division could stay in the super league with their current squads. Anyone any thoughts on this?
Have to agree 100%, no team in this years premier league could do anything in the super league, there just to big of a difference between ballina, westport and celtic compared to teams in the premier league.
is this 2 week break this going ahead at the end of july??
looks like robe are goin up with banger comin in second OR is it still to early to tell???
yes great results for banger and fahy, lookin good for banger. i also thought swinford would be there or there abouts... they just seem to go hot and cold.
speakin to someone from S&F they've lost 5 players to OZ from last year, hit very hard with injuries (john jordan & alan mcdonnell) and now gerry gaughan has signed for celtic u21.
Bangor Hibs would stay up and have some good young players coming through a good youth set up, thats if they can hold on to them (GAA very strong down there). I agree that you have the top four Celtic, Erris, Town & Utd followed by manulla and the rest are premeirship sides. Claremorris will be strong in a few years with all the good youth teams they have.
