Going on this Rovers are in. The rules arent been applied properly.
Shels qualified through winning the league. Since they withdrew their league winnning place is then given to Derry. Derry would then basically be league champions and FAI cup champions and under Setanta cup rules the cup runners up would then get the place.

Wasn't supposed to be an arguement. They don't have a MUCH better support, despite what it says on you strange european/eire site

So that site is flawed is it - I'm sure pineapple stu will adjudicate.

Its irrelevant anyway - the Setanta cup will be retained this season
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week

ACTUALLY, plenty of people know and understand the rules, and, i have to say as a neutral, whatever the reality, according to them rules sligo should be in. simple as. its quite clear on this; pats could only be invited if derry had won the league and cup. any other combination of results which resulted in derry having two invites (such as winning the league cup and fai cup ) would result in sligo, as the next highest ranked team in the el getting the spot.

FAO Shels Fans - Do not despair .....

Just posting to say that as Shels are hopefully going to fold soon, any Shels fan can avail of half price Bohs 2007 season tickets if purchased between now and February 28th.

Just produce your 2006 Shels season ticket when purchasing a season ticket for Bohs.

Oh, and welcome to the Big Club

yeah but why would their league winning place be give to derry? shels havent been stripped of their title, they have, in their own words "declined an invitation" to compete in the ssc". unless the ssc comittee or whoever decides on who gets the places know something we dont know, shelbourne are still very much the eircom league champions.

Proper order too. It's better for the FAI to have Pats in it.
I doubt you could even show a live game from the Showgrounds anyway.
At least Pats will put a challenge.
Sligo would just be another Longford.

What arrangements do you have in place to accommodate Dublin City FC fans, who were availing of the offer from Shels, to honour their season tickets?

I couldn't care less if Pats or Sligo qualify (although Pats away trip is easier) but the rules are very clear - Sligo qualify unless the organising committee chooses to use its discretion & just pick a Dublin team they like...

The truest wealth is that of understanding.

I would only buy a half price bohs ticket so I could sell it to a bohs fan full price.

Sligo fans are off their heads if they think the team they'll have this season will get even close to what they struggled to do last season.
Pats, on the other hand, have the same manager and a better team.
