Bermingham completes Derry move

February 3, 2007

Former Manchester City trainee Karl Bermingham has agreed a one-year contract at Derry City after impressing during a recent trial at the Brandywell. Bermingham, 21, spent three years at City but left without making a first-team appearance for the Premiership club.

He spent last season at Irish League side Newry City but has now made the move to Derry, where he becomes Pat Fenlon’s second signing since taking charge of the Candystripes. Fenlon told the club’s official website: “Karl has impresed me in pre-season training, and showed enough during our game at Newry to convince me that he deserved a contract.
