Seeing it in full quality on MOTD, it probably was on target.
Scored an own goal today to put Spurs in the lead. He's got the scent of goals in his nostrils this week.

John O'Shea's performance against Crystal Palace is the third worst individual performance of the season according to football365.
Josh was badly at fault for United's goal tonight, which was 90 seconds from costing Sunderland a League Cup final spot, but his bacon was saved by Phil Bardsley. Awful penalty shootout too - United missed 4 and Sunderland 3. Poor Keiren Westwood, having to sit injured in the stands while his competitor writes himself into club folklore.
That was some penalty shoot out!! Never seen so many missed, it was like nobody wanted to win.
United were really scraping the bottom of the barrel with those who stepped up... RVP, Rooney, Giggs, Nani, Carrick and Anderson all decent penalty takers and unavailable for different reasons. I'd say Hernandez couldn't physically walk anymore after the shift he put in. He'd surely have been a better bet than Phil Jones!
Poor from O'Shea for the goal alright, he seemed to get totally sidetracked. Hopefully they'll give City a game in the final, I wouldn't put it past them completely as they defend pretty well at times and tend to do okay against City.
Tomorrow, the Sun has a piece from Di Canio on his time at Sunderland. It's the Sun and an aggrieved former boss, so lots of salt pinches are advised, but Di Canio really lays into O'Shea apparently, dubbing him "two-faced".
Author of Never Felt Better (History, Film Reviews).
It's understood that O'Shea was one of the players (along with Brown and Cattermole) who led the campaign against him in the boardroom. No surprise Di Canio would still be bitter about it. O'Shea and Brown grew up under Ferguson and Keane, so it's hardly like they're cosseted players who are resistant to an authoritarian manager. Truth is that Di Canio was the right man to keep up a team in dissaray, but the wrong man to lead them into a league campaign.
DiCanio is saying O'Shea would come into his office to badmouth teammates. That's the "two faced" quote.

Correcting the myths of O'Shea's career
Good article imo.
JOSH: No Rift twixt me and Keane.
Sunderland Defender John O'Shea has said suggestions of a rift between himself and Roy Keane are rubbish.
Sir Alex Ferguson, the former Manchester United Main Man, has caused a few stirs with comments he made in his recent Autobiography. Ferguson discussed a Roy Keane interview for the clubs Television feed, in which he criticised a number of then United players such as O'Shea and Darren Fletcher.
Keane now works alongside Ireland Manager Martin O'Neill, and it is thought within FAI confines that any of his past comments in which any current players might hold a grudge over could cause problems.
O'Shea however told an Irish Radio Station that he and Keane were fine.
"Books through the years can be a slight exaggeration or whatever. The people that are involved in the books have to sell the books, they highlight certain things. Books can be misleading in some senses. That's why I stick to the Harry Potter books, with maybe some 1800s History thrown in there." Said the jovial O'Shea.
He continued, "Roy was always wanting the best and he always looked out for me. When I was a lad and the other players were going to have a go with me, covering my car in shaving cream, or putting eggs in my shoes, or what have you, Roy would always be there helping me wipe it off, making me understand it was not personal. Roy took Fletch and I out one night and we had steaks so thick I didn't eat meat for a week, had drinks and a show all on him. He even bought me a new Tuxedo to wear to one of Becks charity events. Years later I tried to pay him back and he wouldn't have it. We used to have water fights sometimes with those super soakers,to keep things light once in a while, and Roy would pick me for his team. It was a blast. We would soak Ole Gunnar and Giggsie would take hostages. It was great fun."
"In my eyes, he was always very good to me, in terms of me wanting to get better and wanting to improve. That was always the case with any young players coming through and I would say Fletch would agree with me. Roy even let me walk his dog a few times, which was said to be an honour, though I was never thrilled about picking up after it!"
Ireland Manager Martin O'Neill told a radio station that he did not think there would be any problems. "John has played for quite a few years and he is a great professional." Said O'Neill.

Dropped to the bench for tonights game at spurs.
That worked.
Laughable that O'Shea is dropped. I'm not his biggest fan and the guy has his off days but he is far more consistent than Brown or Cuellar.
I wonder if Poyet has learned his lesson or will his ego get in the way of common sense, like his predecessor?

Heavy praise for O'Shea from the magnanimous Garth Crooks, who praised his resolve and importance to the team.
O'Shea and Coleman both made the benevolent Garth Crooks team of the week.
