I welcome Platini's election. Johansson is in his 70's and should have been thinking of retiring . His term of office had more good than bad about it. However he also presided over the widening of the gap between the haves and have nots of European football. And Platini has proposals to improve the Champions League and make it less of a gentleman's club. One of the proposals he is backing is a Balkan Competition for clubs involving Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and all the Ex-Yugoslavia states.
