    Historical/Political figures and their teams

I am reading a biography about James Connolly and seemingly he got quite upset whenever Hibernians lost a match (that explains 1916). I got to wondering what football teams other historical/political figures support. I've got some fascists so far.....

    Mussolini - Lazio
    General Franco - Real Madrid
Osama Bin Laden - Arsenal (an urban legend, I think, seemingly he saw them once in his younger days)

Didn't he mention going to watch a player who was retired by the time he was born? I think there's some doubt as to whether he's really a Newcastle fan.

Actually I think he was heavily involved in Partizan Belgrade (even served as their President if I recall). Croatia Zagreb was some later nationalist nonsense towards the end of his life.

Think thats right. I think when he was coming into power/asserting himself during the War, he renamed Dynamo "Croatia" while its main supporters group was out fighting in the Balkan war.
I think there is a chapter on it, in "football against the enemy". Great read.

Connolly was a huge part in the history of Hibs. Was also in charge of the team kit and carried it to all the matches, and was ball boy at all the games too
